  1. I've had good luck with Rocksett in the past for a number of applications with both small and large fasteners. It is removable if necessary, to apply just clean the threads on the fasteners and on the receiver and then apply to the fasteners and install with the proper torque setting. It's about 12 bucks for 2 ounces but I'm still working on a 2 ounce bottle I bought like 5 years ago and it still works as advertised. You can get it direct from FlexBar, Amazon, or Brownells. https://www.flexbar.com/products/rocksett Give that a whirl, FYI a little bit goes a long way.
  2. What would you take for the OEM Bolt Release off gunbroker? Interested in private party sale and save some fees? I'm on GunBroker (Middle TN Tactical) if you want to check rating. Regards
  3. MidwestGunWorks is legit I buy parts from them for Glock, Benelli, Springfield, S&W, etc.... dozens of orders over the years and no issues whatsoever. If you are mil/leo/vet send them an email and they will add a 5% discount to your account.
  4. I had a similar issue with my new M4 last year, about 2-3 times in every 20-25 shells a shell would get stuck on the carrier ramp. The bolt carrier was not locking back it was simply hung up in the rear position without enough spring tension to move it forward. Basically at the time it seemed like the bolt carrier group didn’t have enough momentum to push it forward and load it. In each instance I was able to either tap the bottom of the shell carrier or the nudge the bolt handle forward and it would load the shell. Initially I thought maybe it needed shells with a little more velocity but this seemed to occur regardless of the type of shells I was using, and always towards the end of the magazine usually around shell 5, 6, or 7. I tried some Federal 3 Dram 1-1/8 ounce #8 field loads, Federal Power Shock 00 Buck, Winchester 00 Buck Military Surplus (Brown Box), Wolf Power Shot 00 Buck, and a few Federal Law Enforcement slugs, nothing low velocity and nothing low recoil and all 2.75" shells. When I say a few total shell count was around 200. I went ahead and took the entire shotgun apart, barrel, magazine tube, gas pistons, plugs, bolt, trigger group/housing, bolt carrier, and thoroughly cleaned and oiled it, sans the gas pistons which the manual states not to oil. Everything looked in good working order but still the issue persisted. Even with dummy shells and testing on the bench it would occur once or twice out of every 3-4 magazines. The aftermarket parts I swapped are listed here: Benelli OEM 7 rd mag tube installed, for 922r purposes I put in the FFT trigger kit (trigger, hammer, disconnector with springs), one of the FFT Mag Followers, an A&S Trigger Housing (since I had to take the whole trigger pack apart anyway to put in the FFT Kit I figured I might as well get rid of the polymer housing plus gain one 922R part), a FFT Wolff Magazine Spring, and FFT Handguard. I also swapped the recoil tube for a 3 position tube but that's Benelli OEM. Basically I've added parts to stay in compliance plus the mag spring but nothing superfluous. No side saddles no aftermarket Bolt Release Buttons, etc… Here was the fix (at least for mine M4 anyway) if anyone else is having this issue, Per Stranger Danger's guidance I went ahead and polished the inside of the magazine tube, used some #1 Steel Wool wrapped around a brass 12 gauge bore brush and attached that to my Drill. Went back and forth for about 20 minutes then switched to a #0000 polishing steel wool and did another 20-30 minutes. That mag tube is smooth as glass. Even went ahead and used some light polishing compound on a cotton wheel on the Dremel on the ridges of the Magazine Follower which is also smooth as butter at this point. However that didn't completely resolve the issue but what did was removing the FFT Wolff Premium Spring. For some reason my M4 was just not happy with the FFT Wolff Premium Spring. I switched over to a Carrier Comp premium spring (oddly also a Wolff Spring but made to different specs) and I am rocking shells up the feed ramp at this point. Even the original factory spring is working albeit a little less aggressively. Interestingly the OEM Spring, and the FFT Spring are close in length, with the FFT being just slightly longer maybe 2-3 inches. The Carrier Comp Spring is over a foot longer then both the factory and the FFT Spring. I talked to Todd over at FFT and to his credit he refunded me the price on the spring I bought from him since it just doesn’t seem to work in my gun. Excellent Customer Service and that was certainly appreciated! Granted I had some aftermarket parts and it sounds like yours is still stock but really in the end it came down to using shells over 1300 FPS (at least initially) and using a magazine spring with greater tension. If you don't want to swap the spring the gun should smooth out a bit with use and that may help. But if you are already so close to the margins that certain shells aren't loading then I'd head over to Carrier Comp and put in one of their springs. However nothing will overcome using light power loads that just don't produce enough gas to run the gun.
  5. Also keep in mind that if you are military/leo/veteran Midwest Gunworks will give you 5% off if you send them an email and make the request. Can't recall if they requested anything more than a redacted DD214 at this point or a VA ID. But I've bought a fair amount of parts from them over the years and every little bit helps.

  7. I have seen several posts from guys who have taken shotgun courses and dealt with stuck shell extraction. Mortaring the shotgun with a Mesa Fixed Stock and the clip-in Limbsaver Buttpad will potentially crack the clips. But that is really the only negative thing I've read about the Urbino fixed stocks. However in my dealings with Mesa they have always been quick to replace parts. Even when something was my fault, IE I lost some of the screws for a side saddle at one point for an 870 and I called them up and they sent a whole new hardware pack for that saddle no questions asked. I had offered to pay for the part I needed but they took care of it. Top notch customer service in my experience.
  8. You might hold off on the Rein just yet, the new slimmer model is supposed to have a release date pretty soon. Unless you just need a light now. I have a couple of the older versions and an OWL and they have been fantastic. I like them more that my surefire lights at this point - although my Benelli M4 wears a Surefire Scout 300 on an Impact Weapons Mount...lol. Also if you are prior service or first responder, email Cloud for a 25% off discount code. Their customer service is also top notch!
  9. Hey Gents, I've been looking around for a M4 Shell Stop Part#: 70056 for a good while. Midwest, Brownells, Numrich, Midway, Etc... no dice, even called Benelli about ordering one direct and they were less than helpful. Anyone know of anywhere that has them in stock? Or have a spare they might be willing to part with? Any assistance is appreciated.
  10. I had issues using the FFT Wolff Spring in my 7 round mag tube, even after polishing the tube it still would not launch shells up the ramp and was causing the shells to not exit the tube fast enough and up the carrier far enough that the carrier would hang up. It was frustrating as hell, wasted a bunch of shells trying to trouble shoot the issue. I switched to a Carrier Comp Spring and that completely fixed the issue. Hundreds of shells later and my M4 is running like well.... an Italian made Shotgun. Also of note was that the Carrier Comp Spring is a good bit longer than the factory spring as well as the FFT Spring. The only way I can get 7 rounds in my 7 round tube is to use true 59mm (2-3/4") shells. Most overseas stuff is too long so you will have to settle for 6 in the tube. But I talked to Marcy over at Carrier Comp and they mentioned that you can trim up to 5 coils off their spring and still have a spring that is superior to the factory spring. So just keep that in mind, I ended up leaving mine stock and just noted that if I shoot Federal 00 2-3/4" shells than I can get 7 in the tube, if I run others like Fiocchi, Wolf, etc... then I can get 6. But in my opinion the Carrier Comp Spring is superior to the factory and to the FFT Spring that they have Wolff create for them.
  11. I recently installed the Taran Tactical Accuguide Extended Carrier on my M4. The main reason was my damn thumb kept getting caught up in the factory carrier. My thumb is the perfect size apparently, if I'm shoving in two shells and holding my thumb on the rear of the second shell then it fits perfectly behind the little cutout in the factory carrier and as it starts to drop back down it jams my thumb in there pretty good. Plus I generally wear Mechanix Gloves or Magpul Gloves when I shoot and the Mechanix Gloves have a little bit of excess fabric on the thumb and they also kept getting stuck in the factory Carrier. So there wasn't any particular reason other than annoyance that resulted in me swapping the factory carrier. That said the TTI installed in under 5 minutes and has been 100% reliable in feeding and function and has fixed the most annoying feature on my M4. So in my book it was worth the price point, plus it was 20 bucks less than the FFT version and arrived highly polished. I don't see any reason to spend the extra on the FFT version. https://tarantacticalinnovations.com/tti-benelli-accuguide-extended-carrier/

Then polish the magazine tube, polish the ridges on the follower, and give the Carrier Comp Spring a try. I’ve not had this problem come up since then and I’m running all of the aforementioned rounds without problems. Best of luck!
  13. Looks like a little bit of rough machining, check out the circular machine marks in the gas piston channel that'll get your OCD fired up. Doesn't appear that it will affect operation. A more focused picture would help but doesn't look like anything more than a little rough machining...
  14. I ordered a silicone cook top pad from Amazon for around 5 bucks prior to starting this project and a set of nylon 5.5" vise jaws for around 7 bucks. I was able to use the little 7" x 7" silicone pad to assist in turning the magazine tube. About 7-8 minutes with small Benzomatic torch did the trick. I kept the torch moving around the magazine tube and tested being able to rotate it every minute or two. It moved a about a quarter of a turn after about 7 or 8 minutes then stopped. I hit it with the torch again for about 2-3 more minutes and then it slowly rotated off. The silicone cooktop pad from Amazon made this much easier. If you try your recoil tube be prepared for about 30-45 straight minutes of heat. Best of luck!
