  1. Yes it is. Sorry I can't seem to edit the post to specify it
  2. Hey all, I decided to go with a field stock for final setup so this stock is for sale. Surprisingly the LOP is actually a little too short for me. Had it on the gun for 1 range trip so basically new. This is the plain jane model with no limbsaver or the cheek riser. $60 for the stock.
  3. That is the 5th rotation and the trigger group does stop it from rotating but I can feel a click when I twist it so I guess I will just settle on 6th. Thanks
  4. Hey all, I see a lot of threads about not overly tightening down a field stock but can someone tell me what is considered too tight? I start to get resistance on 5th rotation but if I leave it there, I can feel the stock twist with the trigger group in with little effort. I can get still 2 more rotations out of it before it starts to get really stiff. Do I stop as soon as I feel resistance (5th rotation) or until it get hard to twist just by hand (7th rotation)? Thanks for any advise.
  5. I understand. Since I have gone through the trouble already, just trying to do it right. Sure there are no precedence set for 922r but with all the anti 2A sentiment nowadays, no one know what the future holds. Unless you are the authority on this matter or willing to fight an over zealous DA for me here in California, I'm going to cover my ass.
  6. Ok thank you. Just getting some reassurance that there isn't some stupid rule about it originally coming with 14 parts and fall under the 4 parts rule instead of 3 even if the parts are removed.
  7. Hey all, I bought a M1014 awhile back and swapped out a few parts to make it 922r compliant. Because of the skeleton stock and PG, I was told we need to replace 4 parts instead of just 3. So the 7rd tube and follower (DMW) and forend from FFT (the plastic replacement). I decided to sell the skeleton stock and PG and bought a Mesa stock since I can't have a collapsible stock where I am. Now I really want a field stock instead of the Mesa stock. Since the original stock and grip combo is removed, am I good with just 3 parts replaced (since a field stock isn't US made)? The requirement for 4 parts is only if I still had the original skeleton stock setup correct?
  8. same. I got a lot of rounds of the black case Black Aces 00 buck and it cycles just fine. patterned decently too from about 10 yards (by decently, I mean it didn't have any flyers off a torso size target). the shells are a tad bit long and only fits 6 rounds in the full length tubes.
  9. Only buckshot I have had issues ejecting was the Fiocchi Home Defense load. It is rated at 1250 FPS but does not have enough gas to cycle the action. Even if it ejects the spent case, it does not pick up the next round off the carrier. Just picked up 180 rounds of the Federal Powershok 00 buck but haven't had a chance to pattern it yet.
  10. Thanks Cas Yeah was having a brain fart moment when I saw the extra space in the groove when the piston was fully extended. Thought maybe it was supposed to move back more to fill the groove completely.
  11. Thank you haha figured that was the case.
  12. Hey all, This may be a dumb question but is this really how far back the pistons move? There is supposed to be extra space in the grooves, correct?
  13. Yeah I lubed up the BCG and the grooves in the receiver but didn't really apply a lot. When I broke down the gun to check, I see lube on it but was pretty dry. I will throw more on it for the next range trip and see if it cycles better with this troublesome ammo.
  14. I have not tried any birdshot as I didn't have any that day. I am trying go get to the range again this weekend and will try some.
  15. hmmm never realized that. Always figured the extra brass at the bottom allowed for more powder.
  16. Pretty much what I was expecting from it. I didn't have any low brass ammo so only shot the 00 buck that I had. Imagine my surprise when it stopped after the first round put of it. 😭
  17. haha yeah, I bought a lot of this stuff when I picked up the gun so I will just keep them for my pump gun. It definitely is very soft recoiling.
  18. Thanks all for the inputs. Started looking up threads and I see many posts having issues with this ammo. Will stay away from it
  19. Thats good to know. Thanks. I will just use those rounds on the 590 and get other ammo. The last owner sold me a bunch of Black Ace 00 buck in black hulls and those things pack a punch. Seems to be cycling everything else just fine.
  20. Thanks for the input. I did put a 7rd tube on the gun so I did disassemble and cleaned everything. Lubed up the carrier group as well before reassembly. Seems to be okay with the stouter rounds but was really surprised when it stopped on a 00 buck round. As you mentioned, I was expecting it to just eat everything. Was so excited for this gun so a bit bummed out and had to rant haha. I will take it apart and see id anything is out of the ordinary but the gun seems function fine when check it. Rack the action and everything is functional. Just seems like there isn't enough gas from the Fiocci rounds.
  21. Took the M4 out today to check shot pattern and check function. Couldn't get through a box of Fiochi Self Defense load without a stoppage. Like 7 stoppages out of a box of 25. This stuff isn't the most stout load (rated at 1250 fps) but seemed like it was not fully cycling the BCG so it would fail to eject or would not pick up the next round off the elevator. It also failed to lock back on empty. Perhaps it's the break in period some have mentioned but was so bummed out when it stopped on the first tube of shells through it. Some of the Black Ace stuff ran fine and patterned decently so I guess I will use that until I can get some properly HD ammo for this. Any suggestions on if there is anything to check for would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Just realized that c stock requires 4 parts so Mesa Urbino stock has been ordered to replace the c stock. Can't edit the last post and want to make sure some doesn't get the wrong info about 922r. Fixed or not, c stock counts as 2 parts and need a total of 4 parts replaced. If you replace the stock with a field stock or a solid PG stock you just need 3.
  23. Thanks for the reply. I was debating whether or not to get the field stock or the Mesa Urbino stock. Found an Mesa one for like 100 bucks so decided to go with that. I just wasn't sure if the field stock will lower the parts needed so thank you for the the information. Was confusing since the OEM field stock wasn't US made. That would put me at 4 US made parts and the c stock will be removed so 1 extra for comfort I guess lol.
  24. Ah ok that makes sense. So if I replace the stock with a field stock would that work? Or do I still need another US part since the field stock is not US made? Thank you for the response!
  25. Hey all, I apologize in advance if this topic has been beaten to death but can't seem to get a clear answer with my Googlefu. I know 922r, along with any other gun laws are vague and BS but just got me curious after watching FFT vids on the matter. The guy from FFT thinks that skeletonized stocks, whether they collapse or not, pinned or single position tube, is still considered collapsible and you need to replace 4 parts to make it 922r compliant if you extend the mag tube/capacity. What is your take on this? Mine is not only pinned but also has a single position tube that I cannt collapse even with out the pin so I consider that a fixed stock and thus only needing 3 parts replaced for 922r.
