Dave Windom Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Does anybody know if the Dave's Metal Works Oversized Safety will work on a 20 ga field gun? Quote
Dave Windom Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 I did but haven't got a reply....got any ideas how?? Dave Quote
tucker301 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 What model is your 20 ga. Numrich lists one part number for the oversize safety to fit M1 and M2 without reference to gauge. Quote
Dave Windom Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 It's a new M2 Field Gun. Dave Quote
tucker301 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Maybe call Numrich and ask them. As I said, it's listed to fit the M2. If their oversize will fit it, then Dave's probably will as well. Quote
HOGWILD Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I am not Dave, but Dave the M2 12 & 20 Ga both use same part# for safety be it a RT or LT handed shotgun so i would say DMW Oversized safety would have to work! http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=957090A&chrSuperSKU=957090&MC= Quote
Flame Red Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I could not find out if this would work on a M4. Anyone know? Quote
HOGWILD Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 If you look at your schematic that comes with all shotguns you will see the part numbers are the same, will it work? should if there is clearance i suppose. 013J is benelli part number and it fits majority of shotguns! I am sure there are numerous M4 owners with them already! Quote
Dave Windom Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 Hogwild - You're the first guy with any substantive knowledge about this situation. I'm absolutely amazed that the guy who makes it and two places who sell it don't even know if it will fit a 20. Amateurish at best....thanks a million...gonna order one now. Dave Quote
HOGWILD Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 no problem! hope it works for ya and i think it will because they are all the same Part number! Quote
Flame Red Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Dave himself replied very quickly to my email and said it would definitely work in an M4 so I ordered one. Quote
Flame Red Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Got the Dave's Metal Works safety installed. No instructions supplied, but Dave provides super customer service and answered my email in an hour. Installation was simple. Despite some other feedback I got on this forum, this part does make it much easier for me to disengage the safety with my trigger finger. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for under $25. Works perfectly on my M1014 just like Dave said it would. Quote
