taylaboy
Hey, anyone have direct hands on experience with one of these auto loaders? Friend of mine has recently gotten more involved in shooting as he was in the past. Took him out on the M4 a bunch of times and he was sold on an Semi Auto Shotgun set up. He didnt have the scratch to pick up an M4 new, and was sitting in the gun store looking at the Mossberg SPX 930 or the M2 Benelli. There was a $500 difference between the two. He called me and asked for input on his final decision while he was standing out front of the store. I told him to go with the Mossberg because it seemed to have a decent set up for the price (stock was 8 shot tube, Ghost Ring Sights/ w Rail) I read up on some of reviews and guys are complaining about them......then you have some guys bagging on the M4 but I notice none of them actually own one.......and am only chalking them up as haters. Just curious if anyone is familiar with this weapon at all.
bigthunderbob
Hello, I also thought it was a good set up for the money. After adding a front night sight, a mesa tactical side saddle, a choate extended cocking handle, etc. all the right stuff. I was highly disapointed with the gun and the manufacture's handling of the problem's with it. The first time out was a 4 day defensive shotgun class and I had failure's to feed, and extract. Also the shell follower stuck in the tube and I had to disassemble the gun to fix it. I returned it to Mossberg and there fix was to replace the barrel which made no sense to me and when I asked them what was wrong with it, they couldn't give me a answer. I haven't tried it since getting it back, so I dont know if it's fixed or not. Also don't put a pistolgrip stock on it because you can't reach the safety and the cheek weld is too low for the sights. If he still wants one mine is for sale. This last weekend I took another shotgun class with my M4 and it worked flawless.
taylaboy
yeah, its too late he already bought one. My initial reaction was just to go with the M2, but he was complaining about the price. He is sort of a girl, so I lost interest at that point in trying to convince him otherwise. You simply just get what you pay for and I have heard a lot of similar complaints about Mossberg quality and customer service.
