Anyone running a non-forend light on their m1/m2?

I just got a great deal on a Surefire m600c and I am playing with the idea of making it into a dedicated weapon light on my M1.

 

Anyone done anything similar? I am wondering if the light plus mount (aprox. 7oz) will start to effect the cycling of the gun. I guess time will tell. If it doesn't work, I can always slap it on the AR.

 

If you have a non dedicated forend light setup, I'd love to see it.

Thanks, thats a cool gun for sure. I'm looking at Nordic Components barrel clamp/picatinny rail combo as a mount.

 

Any chance your location is refering to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge? I grew up in Clearwater.
