Benelli choke thread tool

Does anyone know what the thread chaser/cleaner tool is for.

I got the tool with one of my Benelli guns.

 

Is it something you would want to use all the time to clean the threads?

I wonder if it for chasing damaged threads?

I really don't know.

 

Anyone know what Benelli says?

It's simply used to clean the threads inside the barrel.

I use mine about twice a year.
