Side armor

I am looking at the side armor rail system. One of the options is getting the 6mm channel.

What is that and should I get it?

After numerous requests, we have provided two variants for the receiver rail, a solid top rail or a 6mm channel cut down the middle of the receiver rail to allow a more visible front site.

I ordered a short rail that should be here tomorrow. I'm concerned that it's going to block my sites because it doesn't appear to have the channel in it.

Get the channel if you plan on using your factory sights. If not, then it does not matter.

For the short rail, it's not going to be an issue. If you are getting the long rail which has a length that extends to the end of the forearm, you may want to get the channel. Just my $.02.

I have the Mod 2 short rail on my M4 and it doesn't interfere with the sights at all.
