DesertSnowHunter Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Anyone used a super nova for the spring snow goose hunts yet? I'm going this spring and i just purchased a new SN and get it this Wednesday.... hoping it will hold up to the amount of rounds through it. Quote
duckht183 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I don't see why it wouldn't hold up.. it's a pump gun, you can't go wrong with it either way. Quote
DesertSnowHunter Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 I figured that too, I was just curious if anyone else has cycled high numbers through it in a short amount of time? Quote
duckht183 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) I have an 870 Supermag with a Patternmaster choke that I shoot geese with. It gets beat up pretty good during the season in the boat with the sand and mud getting in the action at times but it'll still shoot every time I pull the trigger. I will say though that my Supermag is picky when it comes to cycling 3.5's.. I have a hard time cycling Kent's and Hevi-Metals but other than that, it'll cycle through anything. I have never been on spring snow goose hunt yet so I can't tell you what its like to shoot through boxes of 3.5's in one day but like I said, you should be fine. Pattern some shells, find out which one you like and then go out and rock some Snows.. Edited November 7, 2011 by duckht183 Quote
Randy L. Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 You won't have any issues with firing alot of rounds. Most snow goose hunters that I know prefer automatics though because they can shoot alot more rounds faster....You may save money in the long run on ammo with that pump though! Quote
