JPH Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I have had an M-1 for about 10 years. Love the gun. Recently it has begun to misfire shell. By that I mean, the pin drops but does not hit the primer on the shell. Usually it fires the first shell and the second will not fire. It seems to happen to both reloads and factory shells like Federal and Win Supreme. Has anyone experienced this and if so what is a solution to the problem? Any info appreciated. Thanks JPH Quote
HDRDKG Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 First try taking the bolt assembley apart and cleaning it. If it's dirty in the firing pin channel, you may get a light strike. My M1 has never had an issue and I clean it after every outing. Quote
M1014 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 hi JPH,,maybe the rotating bolt pin is worn out,,you've had it a long time and if you shot it alot,,the firring pin spring may also be worn,,checkem out Quote
JPH Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks for the ideas. I will check out both options. JPH Quote
