dowgars
Can Heavyshot be used through my Benelli IM and Full Chokes that say no steel?
Paul Vincent
I have by mistake...gun did not get wrecked, but heavyshot patterns better with more open chokes. Also, I will not use the incorrect chokes again.
tucker301
Hevi-shot is OK through the tighter chokes. Many turkey hunters use it through extra full turkey chokes with no problems. As Paul said, it tends to pattern better for most through Mod. or wider.
Liberty or death Jr.
I have never seen any harm come to a gun from doing this but I have found that the patterns just don't seem right. The BBs tend to bounce off of each other when squeezed through to tight of a choke. You should get exellent patterns with a modified and improved cylinder. acorn
I have a M-2 I use for fur, did patterns with heavyshot with factory full choke gives best pattern for distance, 40 yards, also note I use 2 3/4 " loads and when using faster than 1250 fps or heavier than 1 1/2oz. of shot patterns start to blow. Hope this helps!
