M2 barrel extension loosening

I noticed my barrel rotating slightly.  Does the barrel extension just unscrew if I continue to twist the barrel?  Do I need some locktite in there?

I painted and baked the barrel.  So, could be my fault, not sure.

If loose the barrel extension can unscrew off the barrel. I've seen maybe 2 or 3 barrel extension get loose over many years. Take the extension off, clean/degrease both thread areas and apply some red Loctite to the threads before screwing it all back together. It should stay put

We have had two extensions get loose on our M2s in the last two years during qualifying.  We just reset them using rocksett as that is what they seem to have been fastened with before.  Ours did not get screwed all the way tight, but just shy of all the way tight to interact with the bolt face correctly.

Thanks, I took it apart, cleaned, degreased, and reasembled with red locktite.  Pretty sure it's good to go now.  Thanks!
