Shell catcher install/removal - damage gun?

I'm new to the site but not to Benelli and I couldn't find this topic during a search. I just purchased my second benelli, it's the ethos super sport. I really liked it during a trap shoot, but it was launching shells at the patrons to my right. The gun is a beautiful gun and I'm leary about putting putting a shell catcher on there in case i want to  remove it. Does anyone know if it will damage the finish of the gun or if there are other suggestions to install it so not to damage the gun?

The Carlson Shells catcher uses double back tape, I have installed and removed many of these.  Removal will require cleanup of residue ledft behind when removing the tape from the reciever.
