Portable target?

Hey guys. I hike into the woods I hunt to shoot my 12ga and a bunch of different 9mm and .45. I’d like to switch it up from cardboard/paper and get plates to shoot at. But walking in it would need to be something portable or able to be hung on a branch/tree. Any ideas?

Any steel target is going to be a pain even if they are small. Maybe check out Infinity Targets and see of that might be something that you would like. I have not tried them yet, but I plan on getting some. Saw some videos on them and they are actually pretty cool.

Sidewalk chalk, cheap, light to carry, obvious when hit and easy on the environment.

Sidewalk chalk? Can you explain more about how you use sidewalk chalk for target practice? Sounds interesting.

Set chalk upright, shoot it, chalk explosion follows if you hit it.

I like steel targets. You can attach lengths of chain to them using a 'Chain Quick Links'. I'd use blue Loktite because the nut will back off for sure with use. You could use other types of links which you can open and smash closed in a vise if you want so that they cannot ever open on their own. Like you said, you can hang the target/targets from a low branch. I'd just tie them to the branch or something like that.
