Any heat issues using aluminum fore-ends?

I am thinking about getting either the MWI or Mesa fore-end for my M4.

Has anyone had issues with aluminum fore-ends heating up during heavy firing? I'd imagine polymer provides slightly better insulation over the pistons.

Thanks all.

Well, after reading Strangerdanger and airbourne6176's posts on this thread, methinks I am going to stick with OEM polymer.

I was hoping to move my flashlight a bit further forward and use a tape switch but it may not be worth the tradeoff(s).

The Briley 13" Mlok handguard has been working amazingly well for me. It is nice because I can get a full grip around the top and your hand will never touch the barrel. I love this handguard and I am so glad I got it. Zero regrets.
