Installing a Limbsaver 10403 on a Benelli M4 Collapsible Stock

I installed the Airtech. It really does tame down the recoil. -

Installing a Limbsaver 10403 on a Benelli M4 Collapsible Stock

Is the Airtech substantially better than the 10403? I am thinking about getting one for my pistol grip stock. I just found the adapter plate that I bought all those years ago -
Ah! thanks. Now I also see your concerns about a failure point

Thanks for the response. I bought an M2 latch from Numrich https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/740520b but it appeared to be identical to the M4 latch. Are you referring to a different part? I am in process of drilling and tapping it to accommodate a button.

I have read a number of threads about the M4 being difficult to feed. After reading these threads, I am inclined to try polishing the carrier latch being careful not to change the geometry. Before I do this, I wanted to verify something.... I installed a Taran Tactical lifter shortly after I bought the M4. (I got my thumb bitten by the cutout on the stock lifter.) So here are the questions: What is the purpose of the cutout on the stock lifter? Does eliminating the cutout add enough interference to make loading more difficult? If so, is it worth the tradeoff? Thanks.

The 10403 is the correct model of Llimbsaver. It goes right on the standard pistol grip stocks. I believe there may be some jiggerypokery that needs to be done to get it installed on the collapsible stock.

For my M4 with 7 round tube, I am using SKU 16097 from this page https://www.gunsprings.com/BENELLI/cID2/mID10/dID32

Well, after reading Strangerdanger and airbourne6176's posts on this thread, methinks I am going to stick with OEM polymer. I was hoping to move my flashlight a bit further forward and use a tape switch but it may not be worth the tradeoff(s).

I am thinking about getting either the MWI or Mesa fore-end for my M4. Has anyone had issues with aluminum fore-ends heating up during heavy firing? I'd imagine polymer provides slightly better insulation over the pistons. Thanks all.

@StrangerDanger I will give Cerakote a shot, thanks. @truckcop I believe their plating business was not profitable and they elected to stop doing it. They still do work on polymer framed pistols.

I procrastinated on getting my M4 coated and missed the proverbial boat. Robar did a Sig 226 in Roguard/NP3 for me that is perfect. I want to get the outside parts of my M4 coated. I care about the receiver, barrel and magazine tube. I do not need NP3 on the parts (although it would be a nice to have) @StrangerDanger is there an outfit you would recommend to do some sort of coating similar to Roguard or Black Teflon? I am worried about having someone doing Cerakote as the tolerances are tight. Robar knew how to do a Benelli. who else can we trust?

I wish I hadn't read this post ;-)

Thanks everyone! @strangerdanger, I am thinking about getting the externals done with Roguard, not NP3. I don't fancy a shiny shotgun, at least I didn't until I saw yours. That is a sweet piece of work! :-) I am not that worried about corrosion. The main reason behind doing this is I have the FFT extended mag tube and the color doesn't match as well as I would like. I was thinking about having the internals coated with NP3 though. Your description pushed me over the edge, NP3 it is! I was going to leave the pistons be, I thought they were stainless. Are they worth plating as well? Thanks again. BC

I have a steel 2 round FFT magazine extension for sale. I ended up buying a full length one. I am looking for $95 shipped CONUS. Pictures on request. Thanks.

It took awhile but I finally got around to purchasing the IWC mount. It works just fine with my InForce WML.I attached a couple pictures. Fit and finish are great, it is nicely machined. I really liker having a QD sling now. It makes takedown much less annoying. The only negative feedback I have is the color doesn't quite match the barrel. . I guess I need to send everything off for the Roguard/NP3 treatment at Robar. Does this cycle ever end? ;-)

The unit is holding up well. I have been shooting a lot of slugs so that should be pounding on it. No issues with auto-on/off. Seems like they have worked out the kinks.

I will take the factory forearm set. PM me with your PP info.

Where did you get the bolt release button? Can you post a link?

Brownells has schematics that will give you most of the part numbers. http://www.brownells.com/schematics/Benelli-U-S-A--mid97.aspx
