M4 handguard swap

Today I got a chance to try swapping the handguards from my t-pro, and my Dad’s older M4. 

  
 

 

The rear capture ring of the old barrel has a spring, the new one doesn’t, but it does have two springs on the handguard itself.

  

 

I can’t speak to how it would hold up long term, but it does fit.

When you add polymer hand guard to your T Pro, does it have any play? Or is it as snag as it’s on your dad’s M4? Thanks.

I couldn’t feel any play.

Is there any play in the metal handguard on either gun? Like ever so slightly if you push up or down on the front of it.

A little bit. Not enough to be irritating, but I don’t think a laser would hold zero.
