I didn’t shoot all that much, a little over a thousand rounds of very different ammo through my M4, but never heard a click. It shoots and cycles everything, including light bird loads. M4 was around long enough that I consider it to be the most reliable and soft shooting semi auto shotgun ever. And the sound and mechanical feedback of cycle is just pure orgasm. It’s a little on a heavy side but there are ways to lighten it up. Toni System forend and stock will decrease the weight significantly, yet make it front heavy. Titanium or carbon tube may balance it out.

I have Vortex Sparc Solar red dot on Midwest Industries mount. Put about 1000 rounds through M4 now, no issues with red dot at all. I tested it without battery in not so lit environment, solar works fine and red dot was very bright. Auto on/off. Excellent red dot.

When you add polymer hand guard to your T Pro, does it have any play? Or is it as snag as it’s on your dad’s M4? Thanks.

MSP mount seems to be in stock. It’s exact copy of IWC, I have MSP mount and am very pleased with it. If you plan on using a flashlight with scout mount it’s the best mount you can get. Good luck.

You asked for suggestions on items you plan to add, I provided you my suggestion and thoughts keeping in mind you want to control overall weight of the shotgun. Yet you start telling me Surefire is king and Olight is crap. Why ask for suggestions then if you already know it all?

100k is not 100 but 100.000. To my knowledge Singapore police, law enforcement and some military branches use Nitecore flashlights. Does it make Nitecore flashlights the best or maybe Singapore special forces the worst? Why not every special forces, law enforcement and military agencies in the world use Surefire? Most probably because they use whatever flashlights their departments issue. People asking for flashlight recommendation on this forum are not special ops. I’d assume they are asking for a HD shotgun where they may use it for it’s actual purpose few times in their life if ever. Yes, I think Olight flashlight is good enough to survive this purpose just fine for a fracture of SF price. And yes, that’s the Surefire marketing strategy, special ops, crazy reliable etc. How else make people pay triple the price? I also like people immediately mentioning Jerry Miculek in forums when anyone asks how Mossberg 940 Pro is. Jerry and his daughter uses Mossberg 940 only because Mossberg is there sponsor. I’m pretty sure should they be offered to choose for themselves, they would have chosen something else. That’s how marketing works.

I think it’s subjective. For you the reference maybe a flashlight surviving a 3 days low light shotgun course to understand if the flashlight is solid. But if we will subject a Surefire flashlight to 100k consecutive shots it would most probably fail. Would it make it unreliable? Anything will fail at some point and I think the best balance of durability and value for me is just not Surefire. I have old defender model which carried with me for self defense mainly and hardly ever used it as flashlight. It died on my for no reason. I’m not saying it’s you, but when some people say “I wouldn’t trust my life to that flashlight but will to Suredire” it is a little over the top for me. I think there is a much greater chance that your life will depend on another 100 factors like bad aim, or a sling catching the door handle, you freezing and not taking a shot, short stroke of a pump for the follow up shot if you missed, ammo issue or even dead batteries in your Surefire flashlight that you forgot to change then a flashlight being unreliable as your cause of death. If that would be the case there would be 5 backup flashlights on every shotgun. Personally I’m not attached to brands and think that certain models of different brands may suit one shotgun or another better. I have Olight on my M4, Streamlight on KS7 and Klarus on my Remi 870. I carefully checked reviews on all 3 models before committing to buying them. Happy with all 3 so far.

I tried Odin Mini on my M4 shooting about 100 rounds - no issues. I’d absolutely trust my life to this flashlight. Olight had some quality issues before, but I don’t remember hearing about high failure rates with Odin Mini model I refereed to. If I’m wrong could you share the sources of high failures?

Why would I need 15 rounds drum? Did you consider price of Genesis 12, it’s weight with a 15 rounds drum or it’s availability in my country before recommending it? On M4 SBS you don’t get 7 rounds in magazine, but you do in KS7. I’m not suggesting anyone to buy KS7 instead of M4, I’m saying for me KS7 makes more sense than an SBS shotgun.

I can’t help it but compare it to my KS7 bull pup pump. It is, it is much much easier to manipulate and maneuver with in tighter spaces while maintaining full mag capacity AND 18.5” barrel. Which is why KS7 is my HD shotgun. I think if shorter shotgun needed, bullpup (KS7 or something else) maybe better alternatives to an SBS. Sorry for off topic. nk

If you don’t want to pay triple the price check Olight Odin Mini. It’s small, light, has Scout mount and already comes with magnetic quick release pad switch if you’d want to use it.

My setup is on IWC mount, I went with Olight Odin Mini, which is excellent. Small, light, withstands recoil just fine. Comes with magnetically attached and quick snap pad switch if you will ever want to use it and very reasonably priced.

This looks awesome. Should help with recoil too as M3 is inertia. Do you have a chance to compare recoil of this setup with M4?

My primary HD shotgun is Keltec KS7, which casts no shadow and is much better suitable for me to operate in close quarters and tight places than M4.

I can’t understand how a shadow on the right of the target but not on the target is relevant to my post.which was about a light hitting the cloud of gun powder smoke making target invisible for some time after the first shot.

I had no barrel shadow on the target whatsoever. Even in the close distance there is no shadow in this light position.

I have flashlights on all three of my shotguns and decided to try one yesterday in the forest. I specifically chose dusk when there was still some natural light left but it was already difficult to see and identify a target. Used my M4 with flashlight mounted like this: I switched the light on. It was easy to identify the target at apprx 25-30m and aim. But right after the first shot I had a white wall in front of me and wasn’t able to see anything for some time until the smoke faded. Again, it was in the open area. As soon as I switched off the light I was able to see the target again with some natural still remaining. Assuming I would be in close quarters like HD situation, dimm light conditions with flashlight on. Making one shot and leaving the light on to assess situation, there would be no way for me to see anything in front of me for a long time as smoke will remain in front of me. It tells me I need to switch the light off as soon as the shot is made. Majority would tell you that flashlight is a must for HD shotgun, but nobody really tells how to use that flashlight. It seems to be the “how” to use it correctly is probably even more important than having it. From my short test, it seems like using flashlight incorrectly or even having it can do more damage than good in some conditions. I don’t have any experience in close quarters combat or any combat at all so I can’t say what’s right or wrong here. Just a food for thought I guess.
