Hello,

I got a Benelli M4 a while back and I'm having issues cycling low power rounds like birdshot and normal 2 3/4" buck shot. It will cycle slugs, 3" magnum buck and 3 dram birdshot fine. Has anyone else had this issue?

If it's a brand new gun or has a low round count, you probably just need to run 100-200rnds of full powered loads like slugs and buck through it. It's fairly common I think. I had to do it with my M4 and M3.

This is an interesting subject. The day I bought my Benelli I bought about 200 rounds of #7 bird and ran through all of those rounds without a single issue. Since then I have run pretty much everything you can legally buy off the shelf (I can't order ammo online they will not ship it to me where I live) and I have not had a single malfunction. The only rounds that did not cycle for me were the non-lethal rounds.

I hear people say that they have had issues with their Benelli not cycling certain ammo, not many but a few, and I always think why? Why do so many people not have an issue cycling anything, yet, there are people who do. Anyone out there have any theories on this?

Both my M4 and M3 struggled with 7.5 and 8s at first but after the "break-in" period of about 150 hot loads.......they both cycle anything. Non-lethal and mini shells not included.
