1). Bolt does not lock all the way back only half way, can move bolt all the way back fine - can't drop a shell into chamber unless I pull back bolt and hold it

2). Carrier/shell lifter won't bring shell up sits flat, carrier/shell lifter remains flat and jams, have to push carrier/shell lifter from underneath, gun is now a single shot

Shells feed fine from magazine onto carrier/shell lifter, pulling bolt back carrier/ shell lifter does not move up, when bolt just over half way forward toward chamber carrier/shell lifter will start moving - seems late - but seems slow and shell still jams, only way is to hold bolt and push up carrier/ shell lifter from underneath

New parts:

  • recoil spring
  • carrier/shell lifter
  • breech bolt latch
  • carrier spring

Gun is immaculate and clean, oiled, taken apart and put back together correctly. Everything moves freely.

The carrier latch and drop lever all appear to be working properly in tandem. Seems like possibly there may be some resistance when shell on carrier after feeding from magazine the shell seem tight between carrier latch's side and the inside of the receiver where it rests, however cycling action without a shell on carrier/shell lifter it does not move freely and have to nudge from underneath. The original carrier latch spring is seated correctly.

  • Any Ideas to resolve?
  • What part of the trigger assembly actually holds the bolt all the way back, what locks it back and what are the connection points on the bolt where it touches and parts that actually physically restrain it? (bolt will only lock halfway obstructing part of the chamber)?
  • What part of the gun causes the lifter to move up when bolt cycled back, what are the contact points to look at?
  • Any other parts I might consider replacing?

This is been a perplexing issue I can't resolve after many hours of working on it.

Thanks for any insights.

The bolt held back by the Breech Bolt Latch.  It makes contact with the bottom side of the breech bolt.  Your trigger pack/carrier latch/drop shell lever all need to work in harmony to have this work as it should.

I have seen, triggeer packs out of spec, drop shell lever holes drilled out of spec, bent drop shell levers, carrier latches, carrier spring plunger, carrier spring all have a effect on the issues you are having.
