I recently picked up a new m4 entry, and compared to my other m4, the bolt face seems to have some pitting/chipping/bubbling already? I called Benelli and they said this is normal, but I'm a little skeptical considering it's not as clean as my other bolt with more rounds through it already.

It's not easily caught on camera, but you'll see the spots near the firing pin hole at 1 o'clock and two at 3:30 o'clock.

I noticed it before I test fired it (although it was definitely test fired at the factory), and it functioned just fine when I tested it after a cleaning, so I know for sure that I didn't cause this. I'm not too worried about it, but considering that my other doesn't have this, I figured I'd ask here.

It does look kind of rough, and I wonder what (lack of) pride in manufacturing lets that happen....but the appearance will really have zero negative affect on the cycling and function of the shotgun.
