M1014 Sling Front Sling Attachment

Greetings to all...new Benelli owner and Forum member here. I just purchased an M1014 (wanted the M4LE but "settled"). Haven't had a chance to get out with it yet, as we were bombarded with snow this past weekend.

 

Noticed the front sling attachment is "semi permanent" with a two-hole "c" washer locking the sling attachment in place. I would like to spin the sling attachment 90 degrees to properly mount a 3-point tactical sling but am nervous about spreading that metal "c" washer to unlock the sling attachment. Has anyone done this with success?

I moved mine 90 degrees using c-ring pliers.

Thanks RoyK5. Does it stress out the ring at all, or is it O.K. if you only do it once or twice?

Welcome onto the forum,,,,,,,,,,that C- ring clip can handle alot of stress,lets say 1000 times on and off with out a problem,,,watch for scratching stuff up is my concern-------------peace M1014

Thanks for the welcome M1014. I worry about dinging stuff up as well. If something gets wear from use, I'm fine with it. However, it's a completely different story if I booger something up screwing around.

 

By the way, keep the M1014 pics coming. They are much appreciated.
