tincan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I am new to Benellli shotguns. I just bought a SBEII. It operates a little differently than my other shotgun. Does pressing the cartridge drop lever (with red dot), uncock the hammer? Can this accidently fire the gun? Is this the preferred method of storing the shot gun? Thanks. Quote
garrett Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 It doesn't uncock the hammer - it just releases a shell from the magazine. If you pull the trigger after pressing the "drop lever", the hammer will still strike the firing pin. I can't see how this would make the gun fire without pulling the trigger. Quote
tincan Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Thanks for the replies. It is a very cool system. One additional question - Will the gun cycle properly after pressing the "drop lever" and then pulling the trigger? I am wondering because I could accidently do this while hunting...until I get totally comfortable with the gun. Quote
