Guest t1h5t@3 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 My M4 came with one choke. It was the one with the three little notches in the rim. So I called Benelli and they promptly sent me another choke. This one looks identical to the first one (width, hight, diameter) minus the three little notches in the rim. Does anyone know what the deal is here? Do I now have two of the same chokes? Quote
nodark Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 How many notches are on the new one? 1 notch = full 2 = improved modified 3 = modified 4 = improved cylinder 5 = skeet no notches might be extra full and plus the chokes should also state what they are on the side Quote
Guest t1h5t@3 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 zero notches. Just the four spots for the choke tool. The side reads: "Benelli by Trulock IM .700" Quote
Nemesis Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 A dumb question..... Does the 5 notch choke have no constriction or is there a slight constriction? Can you fire slugs out of this choke or (on the M4) do you fire slugs with no choke? Quote

Nemesis Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Looks like this wasnt a dumb question after all. I called Benelli and they said 4 (improved cylinder) was recommended. Now my question is....if I use the skeet (5 notches) will this adversely affect the accuracy of the slugs? Quote
Diabolus Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Both my M4's did not come with a choke, it seems common as I called Benelli and they are sending me new ones. Quote
Test Hawk 13 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 It seems there is a recurring theme regarding choke tubes. When I bought my M4 it came only with the modified choke. After reading these posts and researching Benelli's site, I found that the M4 comes standard with the M, IC and C tubes. I have contacted them about this and am awaiting a reply. Does anying else know more about this? TH13 Quote
Duggan Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 It happens all the time. To just about everyone. Benelli always sends out chokes. If I cared to have anything other than a full choke, I'd call in. Quote
Diabolus Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I think they do it on purpose to get us on the mailing list. Quote
