bwnr
Does anyone have any experience using any of the aftermarket, steel shot choke tubes? I have been using the Benelli factory steel/modified in my SBE and am wondering if anyone knows that I can improve my patterning at 40 yds with an aftermarket tube before I plunk down $90 for an experiment. Loads are 3 1/2" BB's, steel. Targets are mainly geese at 30-40 yds. Thanks, Curious in Ohio

jchapman
I've had real good luck using the IC with Remington Heavi Shot B's. A little pricey, but it folds them. Essentially, because of the extra denseness of the shot, you are shooting an Improved Modified.
mgspencer
I just switched to a Tru Glo Adjustable choke. $90.00 + S&H but it is very well built. I can close it up for the longer shots on geese and open it back up for decoying ducks. UNLOADED FIRST OF COURSE. You have to pattern it for your shot sizes and make a little chart or have a good memory but I think it will be a good investment and I can keep up with the changing conditions in the field. For the past several years I have used a Briley extended mod (e-bay for $15.00) and that patterend #2's great but left holes in BB's. My stock Benelli Mod Patterened BB's great but left holes in the #2's. I shoot 3.5" (federals) and hope this new choke gives me the versality I want. birdkilr
Patternmaster is ,in my opinion, the best choke out right now. It is a ported choke and has a "wad stopper" inside. It is an extended choke so it is easy to take out and change..
