HK MAN
I just got a case for my M4 and I was wondering if you guys had any tips on cutting the foam. I want to make sure that I get the best fit I can. Thanks
rc51kid
There is a post on AR15.com by some one that details how to do it. He does a great job! He uses some kind of Styrofoam cutter from a hobby store that cost a few dollars. It uses a hot wire that is stationary and you move the foam like using a band saw. I will try to find a link, but his way works much better than any other way I have seen.

cmshoot
I've cut numerous foam inserts, mainly for SWS and the like. I lay my gear out on the foam like I want it and then trace the outlines with a silver Sharpie. I have 3 different utility knives with replacement blades that I bought at Home Despot. They are of different thicknesses for different applications. I change the blades often.
