nitrorusty Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 if you put a barrel sticker on your gun can you easilt remove it without damaging the finish? also while it is on your gun could the barrel corrode underneath it? Quote
tucker301 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I don't know, but it would help to know what the current finish is. Camo? Black? Blued? Quote
Liberty or death Jr. Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I doubt it would hurt any kind of gun finish, maybe blued, but why would they make a sticker that would do that? If it is wet underneath the sticker, yes, it will corrode, if not, no it will not corrode. Quote
TMAC Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Try WD40, its a great sticker remover when you dont want to mar the finish beneath. I dont reccomend it for gun lube but to take off a sticker on a matte finish barrel it should be fine. Quote
mudhen Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I've had stickers on an older blued SBE for many years with no ill effect. I've put a few stickers on camo film, and they seem to come off fine. The barrel stickers seem to use a glue that releases pretty easily - by design I'm sure. No rust issues anywhere. mudhen - CA Quote
HDRDKG Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Kind of lost here, but why would anyone want to put a sticker on a shotgun barrel? I guess each their own. My daughter did put a smiley face sticker on the bottom of my duty glock 21 mag. Quote
mudhen Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Why do so many companies make shotgun barrel stickers? I think they are primarily for free advertising at the trap range, but I've seen them in the field as well. On my old Benelli, I used the sticker to cover a large scratch that was starting to rust.
