pintale
I have a 4 year old SBE that the black is fading real bad. I take great care for the gun after the hunt using g96 to clean outside after every hunt. Need to know if anyone is having the same issue and how I can get the gun re-finished to look new. bluegoose_hunter
Cleaning it after every hunt might be your problem. You probably just rubbed the finish right off the gun over time. I did that to a BPS that I used for years. Any gunsmith should be able to re-blue to gun for you. Just call around and get some prices. tucker301
pintale, Both the metal and synthetics benefit greatly from a generous coat of Hoppes Elite Field Cleaner. Let it soak in for about 10 minutes and then wipe off the excess with a clean dry lint-free cloth such as an old t-shirt. If the metal is still faded, you can clean it up, degrease it and spray it with a coat or two of duracoat gun finish. if you want to be creative, you can camo the gun using Krylon or similar spray finishes.
