NoTox Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Just looking for some advice. I am going on a lesser Canadian goose hunt this week and would like to shoot hevi-shot. What size recommendations would some of you have for me? I will be shooting an SBEII with factory (probably modified) chokes. Any info is appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Robert II Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 One size larger than lead and three on steel is a general conversion. Hevi-Shot is about 22% heaveier than lead. Best shot there is. Good luck, Robert Quote
shobes Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 I would personally shoot 4's over decoys or 2's pass shooting. Worked well for me this year, mod choke in SBE II. Quote
CaptBob Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 2's on a mod choke in the SBE II is deadly...I've dropped to 4's when they are in close, but still can't go wrong with 2's Quote
NoTox Posted January 4, 2005 Author Posted January 4, 2005 Thanks for the info, I'll let you know how it goes. Quote
NoTox Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 I am officially sold on hevi-shot as of now. The shots that I took at geese, dropped 'em dead on the deck. No followup shots, no extras on the way down. Just dead. They were not the longest shots, but it still was very impressive. Now I just have to figure out how to reload them and I will be set. Quote
