  1. Depends on who at benelli you talk to.

  2. Spoke with a Benelli rep and he advised sending it in. He also agreed that it's most likely and extractor and/or extractor cut issue. It's going to be at least a six week turnaround, minimum, apparently because it's hunting season and the M4 ain't a hunting gun but hopefully they can sort it out and get it running properly. Thanks for all the replies, I'll keep updating when I know more.

  3. I’ve probably shot 250 rounds of slug through my M1014. I will admit it’s a bitch to remove the lead fouling from the end of the barrel (what I assume is the modified choke). No squibs or kabooms or anything but man, cleaning it after sucks.

  4. Heh, I'm in the opposite boat. I have a gun that has the replaceable chokes, and I would rather have the fixed choke model. Back when I used to have a M1014 model, I fired slugs with out any issue. Still, your mileage may vary.

  5. This is exactly the reason why I decided against the M4 models with fixed modified chokes. I understand why Benelli chose to do this on certain models. I wanted to flexibility to change the choke depending upon use without having to buy another barrel. Personally, I'd follow the recommendations of the manufacturer.....

  6. I have a M1014 and have shot through around 400 rds of slug and my barrel looks fine, but I use mostly buckshot now, and occasionally Ill shoot around 15 rds when I go to the range.

  7. Wondering the same thing. I think it got axed because it turned into an insult contest. 😆

  8. I use Mobil 1 synthetic and ATF in a 50/50 mix. Its made to lube parts running far faster and hotter than my M4's ever will. It was maybe $6 or $8 each when I bought them 5 or 6 years ago and the half gallon will last my lifetime. I can however, pour a bit in a small bottle labeled "gun oil" and sell it for $25 for anyone who would like some!

  9. I recently got an m4/mag upgrade and dealt with the 6 rounds problem. I could only fit 7 with target loads, 6 with everything else. I'm spamming the top googled threads with this reply because got sick of being told it's about shell length and unfixable, or I have to cut my spring to fix it. I could never find a thread that just gave me a clear answer about an easy spring swap or anything else that worked. I'm blown away by how hard it was to find a clear answer on this simple topic. The fix? I replaced the factory spring with a wolff m4 spring from freedom fighter tactical and it went from being a half inch away from holding 7, to holding 7 of anything 2 3/4" long. It's tight, but mine holds 7 of everything now. This isn't meant to be an ad for wolff, as there may be others out there that would fix the problem, but it worked for me and should for you. Non-target-load 2 3/4in shells are longer and that's a fact, but assuming your m4 parts are the same dimensions as mine which they should be, your M4 WILL hold 7+2 if you get the spring replaced. I hope I can bring a few people's blood pressure down if you are dealing with the same problem and as frustrated as me with the threads full of non answers out there.
