  1. Hi There folks, I am fairly new to the Benelli line up. I recently won a Vinci 12 gauge at a wildlife fundraiser and am curious what I can shoot through this puppy. I have minimal experience hunting with a 12 gauge as I normally just use a 410 for grouse and higher powered riffles for big game. I have tried skeet shooting and love it as well. My question is, the gun states 3" does that mean I can use anything up too and including 3" length shells? Second, it came with 5 chokes. I am familiar with choke technology but I'm stuck on what chokes to use for upland game bird. I hear folks go with Carlesons Turkey chokes for turkey as appossed to the factory chokes, however for upland game bird im a complete newbie. Obviously need to handle steel shot but that's where my limited knowledge ends. I need help with choke, shot size and shell size. Any help anyone can provide, I would truely appreciate it. P.s. I am located west of Edmonton Alberta Canada, so not familiar with American ammo here. I don't even know if it varies between countries. Does it? P.s.s. no hating on me for winning this, I give a lot to that charity and I've more then paid for the gun...trust me...lol. all for a great cause.

  2. Another thing it could be is the recoil spring or the tube where it resides is gunked or rusted up. I've seen several that had odd feeding issues that I couldn't seem to work out and decided to look there. In these cases they had a lot of what was dry material at one time. It looked like grass and corn shuck particles, then oiled. One was severely rusted. On that one I had to replace the entire tube and spring. Full disclosure, I don't work on guns for a living, but I hunt with a lot of different guys and when they start talking about selling their "P.O.S. of a gun" because it jams all the time, I try to buy it from them. I work on it and then I take it back out next time I hunt with them and show them it works. MANY of the times they bought it back. I make a little bit on it, not really enough for the time I spend, but I help keep these guys shooting Benelli's which I am happy to do.

  3. Sorry to hear about this, and from a quality manufacturer ... I wise man once said that "if it's made of plastic, it WILL eventually fail" Given a choice, you can't beat blued steel and black walnut Joe B
