  1. Hmm... thats about the fourth one I read about. Mine was a pain to get off. Wonder if something else is the difference like weather. I hunt down in Texas and its been around 90 each hunt, how cold were you guys hunting in?

Side question, Alaska, you hunt ducks around ANC? I work on the slope and they are talking about moving me to Alaksa next spring, I'm all for it, but I've heard interesing stoires about hunting in y'alls marsh and the **** tides.

    Thx

  2. saw a few more doves yesterdya afternoon, hopefullyl i can finish moving eraly tomorrow and hunt some in the afternoon. suckers are big and i'm shooting like crap, my #6 i swear bounced off.

BTW BD, I work in AK, when I left it was 15 and snowing, so 50's pretty warm!

  3. Gas gun with mercury weight. I like my Benellis but I'm 26 and can take some recoil.

Get a 391 in camo and you'll have a great gun. Its only 3" but hevi-shot and Kent Impact make up for it. And I subspect if you have a torn rotator cuff, you probably can't go some of hte places we do that would give the gun problem.

  4. Yea that sounds pretty **** rough.

I hunt in the salt marsh and some areas are like that, but not near an 1.5 hours worth!

I have replaced all my parts in my SBE1 with surecycle parts and so far no rust. One thing I would suggest for you guys are sleds and a floating gun case. Drake has a sweet one that opens all the way to dry out and with sleds you can pull all your gear out there. We use them and it sure beats carring gear on your shoulders.

  5. never heard of that. no problems with mine, its actually kinda tough to get mine off. My nova is **** near impossible to get off.

So you never found it? Were you in water? Had you ever taken it off before? I'll mess with mine when I get home but you got me curious.

Man I've had mine out in almost 100 degree weather this summer patterning it and no problems with the pad getting loose. Lets hope you had a defective pad.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

  6. Bid D:

Yes they have, do a search, you need to e-mail someone and they tell you to send in the trigger assembly and they replce the spring. I had mine done before hunting season adn I actually forgot about it until just now. About $4 for shipping and its a totally new safety.

  7. hollycrap dude, I'm rough on my stuff, but only the gun from action down gets underwater on a bad hunt.

here is what I do when that happens to mine. I take off the butt pad, lock the action open and spray lots of corrosion-x in there until it starts draining from the recoil spring, then I take the bolt out, clean the recievere, the bolt, the barrel and if you got water in the mag tube, it too.

i like fp-10 on the rails and the action itself.

if its not camo, use corrosion-x on the barrel.

  8. Ditto MagManiac.

If the bolt is not fully closed and rotated all the up, it will not let you load shells. This is a safety feature. I lost many a duck this way last year. Teach me not to clean my gun after a mud hunt.

  9. i have shot

    3.5 drylocks

    3.5 estates

    3" estates

    3" kents

    3" B&P

    3" win xpert HV

    2-3/4 rem sportsmen

    2-3/4 win xpert

    2-3/4 win AASC

all with no problem. the only thing that didn't cycle were 7/8 oz. win SS.
