Wow that supprises me. Does the legacy fit her better than the 391?
  2. Yea, like robert said, start with the heavy nasty suckers and then you check it by shooting the light loads. I started my SBEII with about 20-30 3" and 3.5" magnums and then shoot about 300 rounds of 1oz. loads through it. I only had problems on the first few of the 1 oz. after that, been great.

  3. Irish,

thx for the reply. I've been told by a few guys to bring vaseline to put on your cheek to help the gun rubbing your face and to bring a PAST pad to help your shoulder. I'm not sure when I'm going, but I can't wait.

  4. Thats the reason I was looking at the 391 Sporting 20, it weights almost a pound more than the monte or the normal 391 20 but still less than my 391 12 or my SBEs.

I've never been before and I'm not sure who to listen too about how the recoil will bother me. I'm younger that everyone I talked too and none of them work out or run or eat right, so who knows. I may be able to shoot my 12s and be fine, on the other side I would hate to get down there and be so sore after 1 day I couldn't shoot anymore.

  5. Interesting.

Never shot an M1/M2, Sport II or SS or Monte. I'm still shopping for a 20 ga. for south america, although a 391 Sporting 20 is leading my desire. This Cordoba will be interesting to see.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is no camo monte now and from what I understand the Monte and M1 are the same gun, but the monte is prettier and the M1 is field gun. Wouldn't a crio Monte be pretty much the same as a M2?

Cordoba, which is a sporting clays/hunting gun crosstrainer. Same as the SuperSport but with black synthetic stock, matte finished metal and black matte extended choke tubes. Jim Carmichel of Outdoor Life had some input on this one after hunting with us down in Cordoba, Argentina with the SuperSport.

Newly styled Montefeltro with the Crio System (12-ga, 20-ga and Lefty12-ga)

Interesting. The Cordoba sounds like a field version of the SS or kinda like a M2.

I was wondering when we were gonna see a Crio in the Monte.

Thanks for the post Nelli girl, good read.

  8. I wouldn't count on any new guns from Benelli this year. Last year by this time there were solid rumors about the SBE2 and M2, I haven't seen anything so far this year.

  9. All like that. My SBE rusted in front of me on its first hunt in the salt marsh last year, even having a coat of corrosion-x on it before the hunt. My Nova, circa '99 is much better. I had my SBE dipped and bought my SBEII camo just for that reason.

  10. I had that happen to me too, it was only with 2 oz. 3.5 inch loads that I don't really care to shoot any more. I did have it happen on one kent 3" 1-1/8, but I got to chalk that up to where we were hunting and the conditions of the camo blankets. both guns jammed that hunt, just too much crap kept getting in the actions.

Yes, I've done it on my SBEII.

I know plenty of guys who have got over 10 years out of their H&K SBE with the stock spring. If you get a lot of crap and oil in your action, you shoudl check the spring and tube and clean it, but I bet the spring will last you a while.
