  1. I suggest you skip the light magnum ammo . It's a disaster waiting to happen. R1 Barrel will prolly tolerate such load , but all other moving parts will suffer and eventually something will give way . I've do a whole lot of reloading for my R1-30-06 and more than once i had the pleasure of dealing with hot loads . Now i have a few scratch marks on the bottom of the receiver, also a few other marks which showed up only after blasting hot loads. Light Magnum ammo is meant for bolt-action type'a rifles, even so -only high quality rifles can tolerate such power. Hot Load Will Burn out or Explode your gas chamber no matter if it's R1 or B.A.R ... Try some other loads : Rem Accutip , Win bal-silvertip ,...these proved to be Sub-Moa in my R1 , haven't had a chance to test anything else tho ... ________ How to vaporize weed homemade
  2. I use this system on 3 rifles except for my " .223 pill shooter " . QRW rings proved to be reliable with non-magnum calibers, but i think this setup is just a lil too soft for my TRG-42 ( .3 WinMag ). They do a great job so far , wonder how they will hold up when i remove a break off the barrel... Anyways i'll test it saturday at 500m ... 4. Think those who expect a "light" kick from a 12ga. shotgun should reconsider and purchase something of a smaller caliber. Spent 20 years hunting with an over-under 16ga and the day I purchased 12ga. SBE2 sport , immediately noticed far less of a recoil even tho simple logic would suggest otherwise. Muzzle climb of this weapon is reduced to minimum, ammo cycling is flawless , cleaning made easy, recoil pad very comfly and the weapon itself looks great. Some of you claim that recoil pad is faling off ... I admit , it should be secured a little better , but then again ... ask yourself , why is it happening ?? maybe it's those bulky winter clothes ? maybe try dropping your stock right in the "sweet spot" without snagging ... the pad will not come off if it's placed securely between you and the weapon. If pad comes off when you place weapon on the ground , that itself is a safety warning to you . Many hunters do this , especially while waiting for that duck to come , they keep their weapon seating in vertical position with one hand near the trigger. It's an accident waiting to happen . Put the weapon on the ground next to you , or across your legs . It's a common thing to snooze while waiting long hours, especially with a buddy next to you keeping a watch. The only thing i can agree with is the stiff safety. Yep it's a lil too much , this should be fixed. Quoting : 3) Choke tube wrench that does not fit all the tubes 4) Swivel point that dont universally fit all sling mounts I am suprised you even mentioned these flaws. It's pointless to even comment on this matter. I'm not trying to be a smart-*** here .These are just a basic facts every seasoned hunter knows. Anyways ... thats my 0.02$ ... Hate me if you wish , but first take a moment and think how you handle your weapon. ________ Brunette Webcams
  5. I'm glad You liked our posts . We all know that every new line of rifles on the market is bound to have some minor glitches , especially something so complicated as an autoloader. Nowadays , with proper reload ( 1/2" or less @ 100yds ) my rifle does sub-Moa groups up to 300yds away ( haven't tried any further ) , with that said - factory ammo performance is great also, I must try out some more loads tho . Every semi-auto requires more care, no matter what brand. I had a "mispleasure" of cleaning a Brownings B.A.R . It took couple of wrenches and screwdriver to make this possible , not to mention 2 hours to make the job complete. I do love BARs, but when it comes to cleaning - it's no contest with Benelli R1. Those tweaks mentioned in previous posts should help cut down on cleaning time and prolly make your rifle more accurate. So far i haven't come up with anything new ... hmmm guess it's time to purchase a new rifle ?? lol Good Times~! ________ Zx14 Vs Hayabusa
  6. I need 25-06 to hunt varmints and game no bigger than roebuck . Given the fact that i never hunt from a tree stand and i track the game instead of waiting for it , most of my shots are taken at ranges not exceding 150m. usually less than 80m. . I have no application for any magnum on such close range . As You can see , 257Weatherby is just too much for such short range , word overkill comes to mind. I'm sure it will work fine for you , Alaska has lotsa open terrain where magnum is a "must-have" . For me 25-06 is sufficient , and with very accurate reload , 300m shot at roebuck will take him down no matter what . ________ Oregon Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
  7. I'd love to see barrels in 25-06 and 270 calibers . Right now i'm working on loads with application of those plastic sabots which hold .223 cal bullet in 30-06 case . I'm down to 1.20 " groups , but i rather have a spare barrel made for 25-06 . Maybe We all should take a trip to Benelli's office and poke some people with a stick , a lil nudge or just plain ol' case of beer would do the trick ? ....Anything to make 'em come up with new calibers . ________ JAGUAR R3 HISTORY
  8. I use picatinny rail which came with R1 , and Leupold QRW rings . ( they cost around 45 $ ) This mix won't require any shims , basically they are right on the target . After compensating for height and bullet drop i still have plenty room for adjustment. My scopes are : 3-9x-40mm and 4.5-14x-44mm , both Zeiss. Anything above 44mm won't fit in a box , take my word for it hehe .. Ohh by the way ,... if you choose to go with these rings , notice that "tooth" along the bottom of a ring( top left image) . During instalation , put the rings on the pica rail , push them to the front so that mentioned "tooth" touches the rail, tighten the key and youre all set to mount your fav. scope . This assembly will prevent any movement due to recoil later on . Anyways , thats my 2 cents Good luck in upcoming season Guys . ________ Judaism advice
  9. Hey Hey , I'm happy to read your post Tucker301 . If You find any more good factory- made loads , please post'em . What caliber is your R1 ? 300 WM ? I am using picatinny rail just to make my reloading easier and because i only hunt big game with iron sights . Sure , at first i was a bit sceptical so i took the whole setup and mounted it on my varmint rifle CZ 527A .223 ( i went thru **** trying to mount pica rail on that weapon ). i've shot maybe 20 5 shot groups , mounting/dismounting my scope after each group .Anyways , the rail combined with QRW Leupold quick release rings proved to be outstanding . Also i ran a test on a 7mm with same result .So far i had no problems using pica rail on my R1 rifle. Theres no doubt , permanent setup Was and Will always be the best way to go no matter what , but for me quick release rings plus rail is the second best solution. Some people say that "see thru " rings work great , well maybe for them . I spent 50 $ on a set and threw this junk away. 5 MOA accuracy just isn't my thing . Theres couple more advantages to pica rail . 1. It's easier/faster to aquire target with open sights thanks to the inside groove . I felt like i was shooting a shotgun ( it's Benelli , go figure Hehe !! ) 2. If i wound an animal at close range , i can snap my scope on the rifle quickly to take a long shot . I had this episode a few times while hunting a russian boar , if wounded , they tend to stop after 100-200m giving a chance to finish the job ( or charge at you , hence the need for open sights ). I want to buy original set of open sights that come with european model Argo ( both sets ) .. Does Anyone here has any close-up pics ?? ________ House Md Dicussion
  10. I think Benelli R1 should have a separate sub-forum . So far i've met Five owners of R1 complaining about lack of info . It's pretty hard to find any posts about R1 on a forum which is filled with questions about shotguns . In past few months i noticed less than 10 posts on R1 and they are all separated by tons of Q's regarding SBE's & M2's . No wonder people get discouraged from posting their thoughts and correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this forum source of info for the producers quality control ? Anyways ... I'm glad to be of any help Tucker301, now i have to start working on that safety , time to get ready for the season ________ butt Cam
  11. I had a same problem with that barrel lock follower in the beginning . At first both dots matched up nicely without any slack , but after maybe 80-100 rds i had to tighten extra couple o' clicks . Now i keep my index dot 3 clicks beyond the factory setting ( same strenght as it was new ). Make sure you keep it tight , i spent coutless hours trying to figure out , whatta heck is wrong with my reloads. Made a batch , found a perfect load ,soon to find out after 'bout 50 rds groups started to open up . Guess that lil slack was the main cause , but once i tighten the screw , groups returned to normal. I can't blame Benelli for a design flaw , in fact i'm actually happy that all it takes is just an extra turn/click to solve the problem . I should mention yet another cleaning tip .. I'm sure you hate cleaning the inside of a fore-end stock huh ? Well , i took some clear coat paint and sprayed couple of layers inside . Of course i taped off all the areas that touch receiver assembly and near the barrel . Now cleaning is a breeze , guess thats something Benelli shouldve done in a first place . Hopefully We'll see more Benelli R1 owners posting their thoughts out here . I'm sure after some time there will be more and more posts , but for now We're stuck with good ol' "try and see " method . So far i feel like a test monkey , hoping i won't screw up on my next project . I read Your tip on how to reverse the safety , hmmm it's time i try that since i shoot from right stance with a scope , and left stance off the iron sights . 12. I found my R1 30-06 to be pretty accurate using Remington Accutip ammo 150 / 165 grain with groups between 5/8 and 1" @ 100 yards. Winchester Ballistic Silvertip proved to be slightly less accurate ranging from 1" to 1.812" , but still thats pretty fair for factory ammo . So far those are the only factory-made loads i tested since i reload a whole bunch . a friend of mine ran some of the same rounds thru his R1 with similar results on accutip , but win bal-silvertip failed to stay within 2 " mark ( i'd blame it on those 6 cups of coffee he drank by the time we got to the range ). As far as cleaning goes ...wheew , youre right , it's a pain . In the beginning it took me 'bout an hour to clean my rifle 'til the day i stole my wifes toothbrush . Now i use it with nitro solvent for cleaning , and another brush dipped in oil for nice finish . Fore-arm cap problem was fixed by a 5 cent rubber gasket placed between screw and wood . It works like a charm ( comes loose no sooner than after 20 shots ) and i haven't noticed any loss of accuracy. The only thing i don't like about my R1 is the gas piston. It moves 360' for no reason , making assembly pretty tricky . It feels like i need an extra hand just to hold it in place with one hand on the bold , the other holding the barrel. Sure it's easy in summer , but assembly during winter time with -10c temp. can be a pain in the @#$! . ( and yes , i bought my weapon in mid's of winter , i know from experience ) Overall , I'm very pleased my R1 . I'ts pretty accurate and light weight . Bought this weapon just so i can hunt those russian boars . Never again i'll go hunting those crazy pigs with a bolt action rifle , the sight of a 450Lb wounded piggy charging at you is a picture i'll never forget . Wish Benelli could offer more calibers for R1 .. 25-06 anyone ?? ________ Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Ventura
  13. I have bought my 30-06 a few months back , and must say i'm very pleased with it . So far i fired 'bout 300 rounds of various type'a loads , and quite honestly Recoil isn't bad , not bad at all . I can't tell you exact pressure pound to pound , but i made a few reloads and tested them in both Benelli R1 and BAR . Comparing the two , BAR gave a recoil with 150 gr SP bullet similar to Benelli loaded with 180gr SP , so thats a Quite a difference ( all loads made with imr 4320 powder ) . Like with any semi-auto , recoil "feels" more like a powerful push , comparing to instantenous jolt of any bolt action rifle . I know this whole "testing" isn't exactly proper way to go , but after million questions from people at the range , i decided to compare these two the way Anyone could understand . In general Benelli R1 is the weapon of choice , easy breakdown of a weapon makes cleaning a snap , ability to adjust drop of the stock is a nice addition , picatinny rail ( included )for scope mixed with quick detach rings is a very good idea especially if you choose to hunt russian bore . Overall , i'm very pleased with Benelli R1 , good looks and great accuracy make this weapon one of my favorites . (Now if i could only get my hands on those open sights as shown on european models hehe ) ________ Kitchen Measures

  15. Does anyone know the "life" span of the new R1 rifle barrell ?? I have a H&K Psg 1 ( .308 ) which is warranted for 15,000 shots , but other gun makers do not disclose that info ( unless you call'em up and bother customer service for an hour ) hehe ... Thanks ________ Fetish Sex
