  1. My R1 went thru 7 days hunt in freezing cold ( up to -20c*) without any problems. Flawless performace with factory made ammo and couple of jams with reloads ( bullet was set 0.005 off the lands). I did notice a slight change in POA after taking a few shots with home-made handloads on very cold morning, but it wasn't too bad , least nothing to be concerned about. I think it was a fault of mmy quick release rings. ________ EASY VAPE WEBSITE
  2. My friend just bought a new Sig Aurora tg20 and i would like to hear some of your opinions. If anyone has any hands-on experience, i'd really appreciate your posts. There isn't much info on the net, and i haven't seen any of Sigs on shotgun ranges. Of course my friend thinks this is the best shotgun there is , but what else can i expect from a guy who just bought 1800$ scatter-gun. Thanks JB ________ Kitchen Measures
  3. I usually find a sweet spot somewhere in the middle with faster burning powders like varget and 4064 ( usually around 49gr ). The slower burning powders tend to be more tricky and i had to run ladder tests more than 3 times before finding a spot ready for "tune-up". Tucker301, the clip you attached is Awesome !.. I love punching holes in paper at 1000yds, but shooting game ??? wheeew ... anything over 400yds is being shot with camera only . 4. 165gr Hornady SST bullet with Varget or IMR4064. Sierra Gameking / Matchking with IMR4320. These are my sub-Moa loads up to 200 yds with R1 chambered with 30-06. Of course i did try other bullets, but these are the most commonly used in all my rifles. From my experience i noticed that R1 likes faster burning powders so it takes a bit more work to find a good load for 30-06 , but .308 cal should be alot easier to work with. ________ STARCRAFT 2 REPLAY UPLOAD SITE
  5. My 30-06 R1 with 165gr sst bullet and 49gr. of varget feels like shootin my .243 bolt action or 25-06 ... recoil is mild enuff to blast away 40-50 rounds of ammo, without any bruises nor shoulder pain. I'm sorry to hear about that stock mismatch Tucker. Hopefully this time they'll find something worth keeping. Good luck mate! JB ________ Hair Problems Advice
  6. 1126 rounds in a year from my 30-06 proves how much i like R1. Paper-punching handloads with SMK bullet is what i use the most, but also have a few hunting loads cooked up for this rifle. Soft shell hornady SST for roe-buck and Nosler partition for heavier game, all of these mentioned above are sub-moa up to 200 yds. I can't say much about factory-made ammo, haven't tried much thats for sure. Rem Accutip and Win Bal-silvertip looked promising tho. Weapon itself has a mild recoil good enough for my wife to enjoy shooting 50 rds of ammo without any complaints. Recently i made a new 2lb lead cast that fits inside a stock to reduce recoil even further. Easy access to all the parts makes cleaning much less troublesome, lotsa cleaning nonetheless just like with every other semi-auto out there. It takes me 'bout 30 minutes to clean all parts so it's not that bad anyways, where i spend 1 hour to fully clean AR10. ( of course both do not include barrel cleaning time ). Adjustable stock height and deviation is a nice thing to have, set of shimms made for that purpose comes with every R1 rifle. There are a few design flaws that should be adressed by Benelli such as common problem with forearm cap coming loose after few fired rounds. Other issues are very minor that relate to easier cleaning which play no role in overall handling with exception of trigger work. They can be fixed easily at home, no worries there. I wish it was possible to adjust trigger pull to my preference. Among other sticks, i have 4 semi-auto .30 cal. rifles at home, all with custom triggers except Benelli R1. Original trigger isn't bad at all - crisp and heavy just like it suppose to be in any "semi". Read up on previous posts. Theres quite a few buried somewhere in archives , well worth looking into. I bought this rifle courious of a new Thing out on the market. Having previous experience with Benelli shotguns had alot to do with this decision , afterall 979$ is alot'a money. I'm happy with R1 - it's a keeper thats for sure. JB ________ Film Streaming Xxx
  7. Just out of pure curiousity - has anyone lengthen forcing cone on their SBE's ( any model ), to what length, and what was the main reason ??. Just today, someone at the range asked me very same question . It got me thinkin, and of course Benelli forum came to mind . What's the true length of cone in SBE II SS ??? So far it didn't even cross my mind to mess around with any of my scatter guns. They all pattern well , no need to fix if it ain't broken. My SBE SS barrel patterns very well with 8,9shot and Trulock chokes , so theres no immediate need for any alterations, but it's good to know every detail. Some people do extend them up to 5" , but from what i heard approx. 2" is enough to do the trick ... Anyways , I'd love to read your opinions, surely most of you Guys have some experience on this matter. Thanks JB ________ Washington dispensaries
  8. Correct me if i'm wrong , but i don't see any rifling on Dixie Predator slug . How can i expect a good accuracy from any bullet if theres no gyro stabilization , side the fact of bullet hitting target sideways. Mr. James , I would be greatful if You could elaborate on specs. of your company product. JB PS: Thanks for all these links Tucker. 9. I saw these mags in stores around Warsaw. Wanted to buy a couple , but dealer stopped me short , saying i won't be able to take 'em out of country ( least not to USA ) .. whatta bummer ... grrr. I even checked with embassy , they said the same thing. All these laws are getting dumber with every year. Whats the difference if i have 5 or 10 shot clip ?? Why is it Ok for some weapons to be sold as full-auto with endless variety of clips , yet it's not ok for semi-auto to have 10rd clip? It's a mistery at best. ________ butt Webcam
  10. Thanks for the info Tucker301 !! BrennekeUsa site is just what i was looking for . I use brenneke for over 20 years now , found it to be very accurate from smoothbore. It's safe to say , i shot more big game with these slugs as opposed to the whole stash of rifles in my gun cabinet On the other note ..... Holy Smokes Mate ! 5 Whitetails ?? I'm dissapointed with the news on new 2005 line-up from Benelli. Wished they come up with 25-06 barrel for R1 , ohh well... Least You got your wish ... WSM's are comin ... maybe i'll try it too . Once again , thanks for the info. If Anyone has some scoop on other type's of ammo for smoothbore , please help me out . 11. First of all - Happy New Year To Everyone !!! Hey guys , could someone gimmie a list of all brand names that make rifled slugs or brennekes for smoothbore 12ga ?. I'm not familiar with US market when it comes to shotgun. I went to the store the other day and all they had was winchester slugs , but nothing else. I just got back from hunting trip in Poland after scoring 2 big russian boars . 1st one was couple pounds shy of 480lb - downed with R1 30-06 at 170yds . Piggy took only 3 steps before falling down , nice clean shot. ,.. the other a bit smaller - only about 360lb taken with M1014 at exactly 23yds ( that piggy got spooked and charged right at me , to make the shot i had to drop into prone position ... yikes ). Anyways ... i bought that M1014 6 days before going off on that trip , had no time to find proper ammo . I used brennekes bought in Poland , too bad Customs would not allow me to take any ammo back to USA . Any info will be very much appreciated Thanks. ________ Colorado medical marijuana dispensaries
  12. I second Birddog opinion on range and terrain. .223 would be your best choice. It's the cheapest round you can find on the shelfs today , perfect for all kind of varmint up to --hmmm-- 300yds , well maybe 400 on a calm day. Look for a rifle with semi or full Bull barrel, it will provide better accuracy on multiple shots, less prone to overheating. Second best choice would be 22-250. It's quite faster than .223 , but its short barrel life isn't too promising when it comes to small game. .204 Ruger and .22 swift are on my "what to buy list" , so i can't say anything about these without hands-on practice. For shots up to (or over) 400yd mark , 22-250, 243 and 25-06 would sound like a good choice. Good optics are : Schmidt & Bender, Zeiss , IOR Valdada, NightForce, Leupold, Horusvision. Clear glass and reliable MOA adjustment on all. This glass is on the expensive side of the bunch , but hey , you can't go wrong with crisp picture on long range/small target mix. 44 or 50mm scope always worked for me best, 40mm won't do the job over 200yds. Surely - spending 750 to a 1000$ on glass isn't exactly pocket friendly , but once you have it , you'll have it for life . No point of saving $$ here . My varminters are : CZ527 American chambered in .223 REM Sako 75 Varmint ( bull ) chambered in 22-250. Both shoot better than i can , thats for sure. Both avg. 0.25" {or less} groups @ 100yds with reloads and SMK bullets ( my wife does all accuracy testing , i'm better off with scatter gun lmao ) Hope this helps a little . Good Luck mate. 17. M1014 mate, are both of these beauty's rifled ?? In case one of them is smooth-bore , have you ever fired brenneke type'a slugs from it ? Is there much difference between rifled or smooth-bore accuracy ? Never owned rifled shotgun , but brenneke and smooth-bore helped me take down more than 40 russian boars over the years. If rifled is better by any large margin, than i'd love to try one ( and Yes - Benelli M1014 will be the choice of the day ) Thanks in advance JB ________ OREGON MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES
  18. Humidity is a starter and temperature an accelerator for any rust problem. Just like Efloyd mention , wipe your gun dry before casing . I own a 30+ year old IZ ( ol' russian-made 12ga), which i still use for pheasant and jack-rabbit hunts. Other than fully chromed barrels , outside part of the gun was poorly finished just like most IZ's and baikals - thus very prone to rusting . Still i managed to keep it working by simply caring for the darn thing . Simple way to prevent rust : 1. Wipe it dry right after hunt , never case the weapon dirty and wet. Any de-humidifying patch inside of case is a great idea. 2. Try not to expose your barrels to sudden temp. change . Best way is to leave an open case in a garage for some time , let it warm up slowly . Even if you clean your weapon right after hunt , when all metal is dead cold theres a good chance that once you bring it home , two days later there will be rust somewhere . This applies to any scatter gun. 3 scatter guns in my locker : SBE II Sport , Merkel and IZ ... No rust I'm not familiar with other models of Benelli , but i own SBE II Sport and R1 in 30-06. Both show flawless performance , no problems whatsoverer Good Luck JB ________ Best Portable Electric Vaporizer
  19. Haha , for all i know most of the HK family are brass manglers . Still have my ol' msg90 and like it alot, but it's a total pain to see the policed brass after firing. Shells flying out of the receiver are just deadly as bullets itself lmao. Check a few shells for those markings . I would deeply appreciate this . Hopefully it's nothing to worry about . R1 Reloading

While cleaning brass for 30-06 i noticed a small disfiguration on most of the cases . It's located right above the head ( 'bout 2mm ) almost directly in the spot , where bolt touches the barrel. Measured under 30x comparator, the difference is somewhere between 0.0003- 0.001" from what it suppose to be . My question : Is this normal ??? is this enough to be concerned about proper functioning of a bolt ? All of my R1 handloads are somewhere in the middle on powder charge. None of them come even close to max. pressure limit. I only noticed this problem poping up while using "faster" powders. None of this happens to any of my other semi-auto rifle' brass. Regular dents and bite marks on extractor ... but no visible marks on case body itself. JB ________ Red head live
  21. I kept my R1 at the factory setting while using a scope . After installation of open sights , i lowered the comb about 1cm . To be honest , factory setting is right on the sweet spot for both scope and iron sights. Lowering the comb might only prove helpful if you choose to shoot dangerous game with open sights ... "shotgun speed" -- with a rifle Since You are left handed , might wanna try adjusting stock deflection to your stance. All you have to do is unscrew the buttplate and look for "stock locking plate" ( in manual - page 71 , pic below , part nr 4 ). Turn this plate around, so the hole is on the Right side instead of original left. This procedure will make your stock bend leftwards , thus giving you much better view thru scope or sights and overall control of the weapon. Make Sure You Remember Original Assembly . Don't make the mistake , or you'll end up tinkering with it for next 2 hours hehe . Good Luck JB ________ Healthy Living Advice
  22. I noticed a few accesories for R1 rifle on Benelli' Italian site. 2rd mag 10rd mag fiber-optic sights I definitely need a 2rd magazine if i want to hunt in Europe ( Poland to be exact ) , and quick acquisition of target with fiber optic sights would be the best choice for wild pigs - in fact , thats what i bought this rifle for ,- to hunt russian boar. Has anyone ever called in to ask about these accessories , are they avaiable here in States ? I have about 5 weeks to my hunting trip, it would be easier to buy these now , rather than browsing thru stores in Berlin or Warsaw. Thanks JB ________ Toyota Belta
  23. Majority of small arms full and semi-auto actions remain open after last round cycled from a mag. Your bolt should Not close by itself upon release of magazine tho , theres got to be something wrong. It could be light spring in the magazine causing the problem or lack of oil on lever responsible for lifting the action safety block. Congrats on that 8 pointer , bet it was alot of fun to see your shot right on the money huh ? ________ VAPORIZERS
  24. The stock is well made , i have nothing against the design. Most of the lenght is over 1/4" thick- sufficient enough to hold it's strenght. The thin part is located near the buttplate supported by a plastic rib. I had a custom wood stock made on other rifle , hollowed out just like the one on Benelli. After 2 seasons couple of cracks showed up along the grain ( just like yours , grain was straight along the stock ). It turned out that wood wasn't impregnated properly , simply too brittle to withstand the impact of recoil and my lack of care. Replaced it with a new stock on which grain was more fancy without straight lines, no problems ever since. I would love to see Benelli R1 with synthetic stock just like on SBE II Sport . Perhaps some light and tasty engravings on the receiver housing and checkering on the bolt ... Good Times JB ________ Rehab Discussion
  25. Did these cracks showed up along the flow of wood grain, or was it just unfortunate bump ?? I am a bit concerned with the thickness of the stock on R1 and sure enough this might happen to my weapon sooner or later. To prevent this mishap I filled the inside with a liquid foam ( You can find it in hobby shops - usually used on model airplanes ) ...anyways , it's very lightweight and after couple hours it becomes almost hard as wood. Guess that might help a little , afterall it's better to have it filled with "something" - as opposed to hollow space and 3/16" thick walls ... Hopefully Benelli team will solve your problem quickly , it's a bummer to miss out on the Season . Good Luck Tucker ________ LovelyWendie99
