  1. Sleepydoc you are by no means the only person unhappy with this firearm.. If you call Benelli they will be more then happy to fix the safety problem as many in this forum have done.. I just shot the gun for the first time this weekend and I am more then a little unhappy with how it preformed in the field.. The recoil pad is a huge joke.. Not only did it fall off every 4 shots but it does not even work... I think the recoil would have been softer if they would have used stone in the pads construction ... I must say every round was equal to getting hit with a rock or 2x4.. And before some pundant chimes in I was only shooting 3" rounds.. The gun failed to impress me enough not to us it on the second day of the hunt.

    SBE II problems

I don't think the spring was a QC issue but more along the lines of a way to save money.. They use that spring in other guns.. Benelli did an amazing job correcting the problem even if some of us got a little upset about the lack of communication. I wouldn't let a few rants stop you from picking one up..

    Coating on barrel

I wouldn't be surprised if the second coming of Christ came before they respond to your email.. But if you call they will have you ship the gun back to have it repainted.. It takes about 15 days give or take to get it back...
  4. Well my gun came back today... I like the new spring but I would almost say its too lose.. But still a great job in such a short time...
  5. I only picked up the SBE 2 for the large trigger guard... LOL and the funny is was I went to the gun store to pick up my Athena V and my wife told me not to order another gun... When I came home I had to hear the " what did I tell you " thing.. I told her I did listen, they had it in stock...
  6. I did not receive the same email as the rest of you because of other issues. I was asked to ship the gun to the repair facility. So I'll let you know when I get it back (no clue on ETA)... Yes it was nice to receive a reply to my emails finally... I was also impressed on how little time it took for the fix to be approved. But I still think that if you post an email address on a web page you should have someone who checks the inbox...
  7. I have a question for you guys who shoot the 3.5"... Why do you shoot them? They do not increase the velocity , in fact you get less velocity. Also it doesn't make the pattern more dense, you just get a longer string. So what the point?
  8. This is not my first Benelli and as I have said before my anger comes more from the total lack of customer service I have received from the company.. I have sent 10-15 emails and not just about this gun I have another issue that need to be looked into. I'm just blowing off a bit of steam. As far as M1014 goes, he does nothing but berate people on this board. It's about time someone put him in his place. LOL and as far as the car goes I had it a week before I gave it to my wife and ordered a 645ci....
  9. You really cant go on how the gun patterns at 50 yards because you don't know how long the shot string is.. Also because we cant use lead the most choke we can use and still have an effective pattern is a MOD. But the answer to the question is yes with heavy shot (steel no) you could kill a goose at 50 yards. As a rule I don't shoot anything greater the 25 yards give or take.. Then again I'm an odd duck. I hunt ducks with #6 steel... As long as you hold your shot until there committed to land in you pattern you will stone them every time. At that range anyone who shoots #4 knows how it just rips them up #6's are sweet. As for geese I live by the same rule but BB - #3 what ever I have around at the time... If there is a chance you wont kill the bird why shoot?
  10. Threeshot I really did not ask.. And because Benelli is going to screw us around for another month, guess when (and if ) I have some free time I can stop back..
  11. I only duck hunt so the full choke is of no use to me but I just checked my SBE 2 and I can also add this to the list of problems I have with the gun... 1) 4max camo is chipped 2) safety is HORRIBLE 3) Stock is going to be a HUGE pain in my balls to keep clean and dry. 4)full choke issue 5) Benelli customer service sucks... 6) wonder if they even have customer service employees or is the department just a stuffed monkey sitting in front of a computer. 7)Safety if you didn't know is HORRIBLE
  12. Yes.. The best thing to do is click on the Benelli Dealer link and call around... Sometimes its worth taking a drive and not waiting 6 months to a year for a gun.
  13. I talked to a gunsmith.. He told me that cutting the spring was a bad idea. He said he could replace the spring or something else for like $20 or so.. Money is not the point here. I dont want my smith to change it and have Benelli void the warranty... All I have to say is you dont have this problem wim Rem or Win. If you have a question or problem the go out of there way to make you happy... I called Win once to ask a question about my x-2 I didn't have a problem and the sent me a box of shells just to say thanks for calling...
  14. I wouldn't even worry about him.. The guy has 3 Benelli guns and he thinks that makes him something. Just look at the pics of his house in the background and you can tell he's low class... He's the type who drives 79 Ford pickup and has 3 more on blocks around his house for parts. [ 07-05-2004, 01:15 PM: Message edited by: Laz ]
  15. Benelli wants you to think when you purchase one your buying the best of the best. The fact is they put out a defective product when they released the SBE 2.. There are people in this forum who admit they don't use the safety at the range and the company expects me to use it in the field? We have waited three weeks more then they told us we would have to for a response from the company. Someone posted we should have a response yesterday. Did we get one, NO ! My anger has less to do with a simple safety issue that a gunsmith said he could fix for $20 and more to do with the lack of any word from this company. And to state that I don't deserve something as refined, as a Benelli is absurd. I didn't collect soda cans to pay for my gun as it seems you had to do ( can easily tell from the pics you have posted. If my house looked like that I would think of taking the pics outside ). So please don't attack me personally if you have something to add about the customer service of this company I would be happy to hear it.
  16. I don't look at the Super X-2 as a ignorant purchase. I think its better and faster then the 1100 and a perfect choice as a back up gun for the many trips I take each year... Also when I like Threeshot purchased the SBE 2 the thread about the safety was not posted... What has me most upset is the total lack of customer service with this company.. I have purchased many luxury items in the past and there is a level of customer service you would expect to receive. To say Benelli falls short is an understatement... I have no problem going to a smith and having him fix the issue if that is what Benelli would have us do. Until I hear from the company I as other do remain unable to correct an extremely irritating problem.
  17. I have a Super x-2 and love it but is a tad heavy. Also a 12 , 20 1100 and a SBE. The safety on the SBE 2 sucks to say the least and I stand behind the title of this thread. It is loud and takes a tremendous amount of force to operate.. I could be one of the few that always leaves the safety on until the gun is on its way up to my shoulder for a shot.. Just look at the last thread about the safety many people are upset and it has been over 3 weeks that the customer service rep posted.. For people to say this is the best gun ever is far from the truth.. It has problems and should never have been released the way it is and the customer service at Benelli is almost nonexistent.
  18. When you spend about 1500 on a gun you expect little things like the safety to be functional and PRACTICAL..There should be no reason to have to apply 100psi to operate the safety. And what's up with the loud "CLICK" ? There is no way anyone here could say they are happy with the way it operates.
  19. Its been almost 3 weeks and we have still no word for Montefeltro about the safety... The way it is now the gun is almost useless in any hunting condition unless you don't use the safety. If your thinking of getting one don't!!!!!! You will not be happy until this issue is fixed...
  20. I seem to have the same problem... But then again I also have a problem with missing camo.. I should have check out this website before I went to the store and picked up a new gun.. Guess that what happens when you buy a gun just because your wife says you cant..
  21. I picked up my gun about a week ago but just got around to taking a look at it... When I did i found some of the Max4 camo chiped off....... Any clue what I should do? Its not a big chip but enough that I think it could help more flake off... Any way to seal it so it cant spread? Should I take it back to the gun store or send Benelli an email?
