  1. Thanks for the replies. I did, in fact, clean it thoroughly when I first got it home from the gun shop. I'm a clean freak with my guns, and I'm no rookie to gun ownership. (My M1 Super 90 functions flawlessly BTW). I then cycled some rounds through it, and this is when the issue first arose. I thought perhaps I was following the bolt home when I manually cycled the rounds. So I would let the bolt close shut after jacking it back in such a fashion so as to closely resemble a real shot. This seemed to help, but I would still notice some rounds getting stuck, and the lifter not picking them up. I thought the best way to find out if it really worked or not would be to take it out and shoot it. I then installed the full length mag tube made by SOCOMguy and took it out and shot it. I probably should have left it stock before shooting it the first time. Multiple failures. It's almost as if the timing of the lifter is a little slow or something. I cleaned it when I got home from shooting, but I haven't shot it since. Again, thank you for your replies.
  2. I have a new M4. I noticed when I played with it, when I first took it out of the box, that when I tried to cycle some shells through it, the lifter did not always feed the next round up into the chamber. I then took it out and shot it, and I had numerous malfunctions with several different types of good quality oo and ooo. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks.
  3. BTT. Is Sidearmor the only option right now?
  4. A dedicated light would be great. I wonder why Surefire is dragging its feet on this? I'd wager it would sell like crazy.
  5. I doubt it, because part of the mag tube is still Italian. To play it safe, get one of SOCOMguy's complete mag tubes (U.S. made). Then it would definitely constitute a U.S. part. This is the first modification I'm making on my M4. Next will be a follower, all depending. I'm waiting on a letter from the BATF delineating the number of parts, and it will dictate for me what I do. I plan to put a buttstock pouch on my M4 and carry the letter on the gun so it's always there to point to for authority.

  7. Is the SS spring longer/stronger than the factory spring? I hesitate switching out springs because I've had problems in the past doing this with other guns (even using reputedly top-of-the-line aftermarket springs).
  8. How many of you guys are using these followers in your Benellis? Are they a good product? I just sent of my M.O. to get the M4 full length tube from SOCOMguy, and I'm planning to install the Sure Cycle follower. I want to make sure I am not doing anything detrimental to the functioning of my gun. Thanks.
  9. The LOP on my M1S90 is too long for me. A Benelli rep told me to get one the the old HK Benelli stocks, as they have a shorter LOP. So I'm looking for one, but can't seem to locate one. If anyone has one in good condition they want to sell, I will pay top dollar for it. Thank you.
  10. I need to replace a buttstock on a Benelli, and I think I need a 13mm socket wrench to do it. I've looked in the hardware stores, but they don't seem to have the type of socket wrench I need. Does anyone know where I can buy one? I think I need a long one to fit down into the buttstock. Thank you help you can offer.
  11. Did the factory mag extensions for the M4 also come with a longer spring?
  12. Do I coat the entire outside? Just the threads? Is Rig OK? Thanks. [ 07-14-2006, 11:27 AM: Message edited by: Newaza ]

    GG&G Pics

It didn't work for me, either.
  14. Since the M4 is gas operated, I assume it gets fouled up a lot more, and must be cleaned more often? Assuming that you use standard OO buck, do you think the systems are equally reliable, or would you still give the edge to the M4? I assume the military went with the M4 because it will more reliably feed a wide range of loads, and it will take all the extra add-ons without compromising the reliability factor. 15. Assuming no add-ons, which system would you take, and why?
  16. Do you have any experience with the Speedfeed stock? I am thinking about going that route due to the fact that it has a shorter LOP. The factory Benelli stock is about 14.25" (I think), and feels a tad too long for me. I wish I could find a stock that is about 13.75", but I can't. The Speedfeed has one that's 14" and one that's 13". I will likely go with the 14" LOP stock.
  17. Thaks for the replies. Honestly, I am just curious if it will work. I don't plan to carry it that way. To have it jam on the second shot when the SHTF would be a nightmare...
  18. I plan to install one of these oversized charging bolts on an M1. Have any of you guys tried both of these out? I guess the GG&G one rotates, and the Progressive titanium one does not? Thank you for any advice you can offer.
  19. Thanks. I'll give it a shot.
  20. How do you load 9 rounds into an M1 Super 90, if the mag only holds 7? Do you load the extra round into the lifter area? If so, do you do this by loading it though the ejection port? Can you carry the shotgun around like this for a long period of time, or is it something that should only be done immediately before firing?
  21. Thanks for the reply. I have an M1 Super 90 just like yours with the heat shield (mine is sans shield). It is my first Benelli. I really like it. But the stock is a tad too long for me. Are there other recoil pads out there that would reduce the pull by, say, 1/4" to 1/2"? My friend has an old M1 Super 90 (early 90's) that feeds everything. He went out a year ago and bought a 1014. The 1014 is nice, but it will not feed any 3" magnums. Have you also experienced this with your 1014? My initial impression is that the old M1 Super 90s are still the best things going.
