just a lubracant, but my favorite. you can find it at brownells, made by Maddog labs.
-
do you seat the O ring all the way flush? It is tough access against the bolt. I use a plastic feeler gauge to make sure it is all tucked in. Then I put a little MD XF-7 to keep it from binding.

do you mean 1-2mm or a centemeter or more? I think they all move a little (it is the play in the recess for the trigger) try to ignore it and it will go away. Or you could shim it.

Now thats what I am talking about!!

thats it? No other feedback or comments? Jokes about duct tape or bailing wire? I guess I will just slink back into my workshop.

rock solid. The rail is welded to the mag tube.

There is RTV silicon on the cut edges (to finish) of the handgaurd, it looks very slopy in the photo (because of the flash reflection) however in reality it is very clean and can not be distinguished from the factory material.

I have a M3 on my M4 works well.
-
thank you, kinda corny to post a pic of it -but it does look cool. They will not sell the polarizer so I made one out of a Tiffen 40mm camera filter, works very well. regards-d

I do not have a SOCOM, but I do have a SEI Crazyhorse, and I am quite fond of it.
stock up on surplus 7.62 - it is getting very rare, linked port is probably the best deal now.
it is heavy to cary while kickin doors (devilishly, what was I thinking heavy), but I can pop the locks off from 800 yards and let the wind blow it open.

I will post pics tomorow. And I am right there with you guys. I have a back up mag tube and a pair of spare forends. So I figured - what the heck. My next project will be to hand lay a carbon fiber forend that will be custom fit for my mods. regards-d

I have been working on a viable and simple solution to the M4's lack of a VFG and with the flush of mag tubes available I have finally come up with a prototype.
I simply took a steel picatinny rail and welded it to the mag tube in a comfortable place, then trimmed a relief in the fore grips to allow access to it. It does not interfere with disasembly or function and is not aparent when the foregrip is unatached. I will post pictures when I have time. regards, -d

It is very interesting. There is a U.S. made tube (I assume SOCOMguy's work) on there @ $610. And a +2 extension that is carefully labled to appear as a full legnth tube. Some unscrupelus sellers and inatentive bidders (in this mans humble opinion.) What a world.

as soon as I patent my three barrel cordless drill powerd rotery atachment this guy and I will corner the market!!
-
When my M4 was brand new it would not cycle the low recoil loads and had trouble with the full power loads on the same day. After cleaning I have had no trouble.

I posted a link for a good stormcase dealer.

Breneke MP are the best slugs I have come across. $2.50 a box, good accuracy and hit hard as heck.

I think a light and a sling are probably the most important. and the light being the first. I use a cheep belly bad I found in the alley behind my house for shells, it has two compartments (shot and slugs) and can easily hold twenty rounds.
Oh -- like Duggan said a mag extension would probably be the most important. not much you can do with a light or sling if you are out of shells.--- I supose you could try to blind the bad guy with the light until you get close enough to club him with you M4... then tie 'em up with the sling until the peace officers arrive

there are many out there. check out midway or the other companys. All you have to do is get the diamater of you tube and find a ring mout that will fit. Good luck

If you are handy and brave try this set-up. Works great and does not affect disassymble. I have since put a $12 star-tac pressure pad on the M3T.

was that the Doctor optics? jakjakman? They have been discontinued and almost imposable to find. I have heard some rather disturbing comments on botachtactical, but I have not tried them.

gas pistons

regarding the used pistons, I have seen them for a couple years on GB. My theory is they are coming from a military armorer when their duty cycle is reached and they are replaced. (at least the ones on GB.) regards -d.
