  1. Well so far I have gotten chiger and tick bites, and I sprayed down real good too. LOL The boys are hanging with the girls around here. Never been a good enough caller to call a gobbler away from a flock of hens yet, I will give them some time and it will get better.
  2. Wow what a mess I had today, my first spot was taken, and I was there at 4:45 AM. So was my second, third , and fourth. I finally went to one of my old spots and heard two but they were on the other side of the river. It is tough when opening day is on a Saturday, looked like the first doe day during deer season. Oh well I have three days off next week. Jim
  3. Hope to put the new Benelli to the real test in the morning. It is goiing to be nice to be carrying a light gun this year, my old BPS 10 ga. was getting to me. I am going cold turkey you might say as the two mornings I went scouting I did not hear a thing. Jim
  4. Man I am sorry to hear that. Come on down and hunt with me, lots of public land. You can take 2 a day and 5 a season. This is in SC by the way, 1.5 hours away. Good luck, Jim
  5. Good looking pattern, I would take that any time. I to do like them to shoot tighter but that can get you in trouble at times, LOL I found out the hard way. Jim
  6. tucker, I know what you mean about the hanging up. I hunt public land and get alot of that. That is why I have shot a BPS 10 ga. for the last 15 years with BP loads. Now with the ground I have to cover and getting old that 10 is too much to carry around anymore. I would love to be able to carry my model 7 in .243 when they hang up but we can't carry rifles down here. Jim [ 02-24-2006, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: War Wagon ]
  7. Gun: SBE I SteadyGrip 24" barrel Sight: Leopuld/Gilmore red dot Choke: Rhino .660-2 Load: Nitro H51013 4X5X7 2 1/4 oz. HS @ 1200 FPS Range: 40 yards Results: Velocity 1186 FPS sky screen set at 8' 98% inside 20" circle 48 pellets inside 4" circle I am real happy with the results. I did try one other nitro load of 2 oz. of #5 HS that was suppost to go 1300 FPS. I could only get 1165 out of it but it did pattern good. Good Hunting, Jim
  8. Sorry, I can't help on that set up. I shoot a SBE I SteadyGrip and use a Rhino .660-2, and Nitro loads. I do know that the Winchester Xtended range loads shoot real good. Good luck and Good Hunting, Jim [ 02-19-2006, 09:11 AM: Message edited by: War Wagon ]
  9. I have seen it at several gun shops just have not bought a box yet. One guy at work says it works really good out of his 870 with a Kicks choke. Jim
  10. I have the Quake Claw Contour Rifle Sling on my Steady Grip and it works real well. Got mine at Cabelas. Quake Ind. Jim [ 02-13-2006, 09:25 PM: Message edited by: War Wagon ]
  11. Yep, used them last year, Same Part #. They are very good rounds.
  12. I hear you on the eyes at 50 thing. I finally had to put a Gilmore red dot on my turkey gun. Enjoy your new toy. Jim
  13. Started mounting my red dot yesterday and found that the Weaver 93 mounting screws are too short. The back three would start and tighten up but the front one would not even start. Anyone run into this. Running by the gunsmith at lunch to see if he has any longer screws. Jim
  14. I used the Extended range load last year and it patterned real well out of my 870 with a Jellyhead choke tube. Have not bought any for my benelli yet but still have some 3" left over though and I will give them a try. Jim

I just ordred a .660+2 from Rhino. I talked with Nitro and Rhino and this is what they told me to get. I have a SBE1 Steadygrip. Good Hunting, Jim
