  1. So this last weekend I ran some 4 buck 3" magnums through my M1014 and all I can say is, 'friggen-A!' That's about the closest thing to shooting a cannon as I've ever come! Power, pure power! It's a shame they cost so much or that'd be all I'd shoot. I guess it's time I started reloading my own shells.

    That's just what I was thinking! :D

Ha ha, he's got you there! tongue.gif

Course we're joking man. We're all pulling for you to enter the club. smile.gif Would have to say though, your gun collection is one of the finest I've seen yet.

  4. Wow!!! Kick-A, thanks for finding that!

Oh, one more thing--Does anyone know if that 14" barrel is factory, or is it a custom gunsmith thing?

  5. Okay, here are some pics.

First, here's a shot of the position the stock is in when it locks into place. Notice the button is in the 'out' position.

Top view of the stock in the locked position:

Here's the recoil tube from the top:

    And from the side:

I'm going to see if I can heat up the recoil tube area by the nut with a soldering iron and see if that'll loosen it up enough to adjust. If not, guess I'll get to test out Benelli's customer service.

  6. It's a M1014, so the tube isn't milled enough to allow the stock to collapse. I think it's in the right place when it locks--I've fiddled around with it some and it seems to only lock in one place.

As for removing the recoil tube, I tried with an adjustable wrench last night, but the nut that sits on the recoil tube up against the receiver is on way tight and I couldn't get it loose. Has anyone ever removed their recoil spring tube from the receiver?

  7. My vote is for the M4. To be honest, I don't really see why you'd want a less-lethal round for home defence. If a BG broke into my house I'd want to be darn sure that whatever I shot would stop him and stop him fast.

As for the broken parts--most of that came about because of the 4-port barrels that had a different setup for their gas system. I don't think Benelli's making those anymore. The US army is adopting the M4 for their combat shotgun, so they put it through all sorts of tests and it passed. So because of that, I don't really think you could call the M4 'fragile.'

Anyway, you probably couldn't go wrong with either, but my vote is still for the M4.

  8. So the butt-plate portion of my pistol grip stock on my M1014 locks in place way out of alignment with the rest of my gun. I can push the button in and rotate the butt-plate into alignment, but then it's free to move back and forth and is easily moved out of alignment. Does anyone else have this problem or am I the only weird one?
