Yes, there's really nothing to fear. I think you run a bigger risk of the m4 getting mucked up sending it out to someone else than DIY.

New Frontier Armory for $37 below retail and Mesa fulfills the order.
I just got mine today, ordered from NFA and drop shipped from Benelli. Took over a week b/c of backordered Limbsavers. Looks good, though!

Mitch from Mesa said the Urbino grip can be swapped out with the stock grip. If that's true, then I see no big issue.

I'm selling mine, too. I figured there would be no harm adding a post here, as Hookster already sold his, I believe, in another thread. Mine's never had anything mounted to the rails other than covers. Haven't ever shot the m4, either, so the KZ's in great condition.

Nice work. What are the rail covers next to the flashlight? They look much less bulky than the ones I have on my KZ Quad Rail.

It weighs about a lb., but made well. Would love something with a rail on the grip with smaller diameter, though.

UPDATE with new optic: TRIJICON MS03 8MOA red dot with MS17 low mount. This is the optic I have been looking for. With the low mount you get an absolute to 1/3 co-witness with the M4 front sight (even when fully collapsed.
Best pic I could get...when shouldered the red dot is aligned...

Supernova Tactical and now an M4).

There's plenty of info to find using search, though probably not all in one post. Anyway, unless you're married to the Mesa part, you might consider the sidearmor rail (it gives you the shell holder option, but with a spec rail (also an option).
The Fab seems to be crap based on the reviews (and it's made in Israel, so you don't gain 922r benefits). Surefire gets mixed reviews. People seem to like the BT, but again, it's not made in the USA.
I bought the KZ rail FWIW.

Since Benelli is offering a $200 rebate on the M4 through 7-31-10 I have seen prices increase by $50.00 at my local store. I would buy one for $1500.00 from out-of-state dealer to eliminate $125+ in sales tax and submit your rebate. After all the dust settles you will probably have around $1400.00 invested. That's what I just did.
Just make sure you buy from an authorized dealer if you plan to take advantage of the rebate--I noticed some on gunsamerica and gunbroker were not.

I ordered the KZ Quad Rail from Botach this week, and am thinking about getting an Aimpoint T1.
We all know by now that the Larue mount gets chewed by the M4's stock rail. Is anyone using a Larue with the KZ with good results?

What is the price of a standard M4 after the Benelli Cash Rebate?
I just bought one on gunbroker for $1515 plus $30 shipping. With the rebate, it's kind of not bad. Almost.

Curious how much you received for it (if you wouldn't mind PMing me). I've had one for 2+ years that I've never fired with a EGW picatinny rail & TacStar extension.

I have a Supernova Tactical (with picatinny rail) that I'm probably going to sell, and getting an M4. Regardless ...
I've been searching for a riser or see-through mount that would elevate my red dot sight while still allowing for the use of the ghost rings below.
It's such a bummer that we can't co-witness, but this would seem to be an alternative.
The only (hideous) example I've seen is this:
