New or used?

I have the Meprolight ghost rings on my M4. Love them. Others who have shot my gun love them. Here is where I bought them: http://www.opticsplanet.net/meprolight-shotgun-beads.html

I have read your comments and studied the pics myself...and I've concluded that I'm cancelling my order for this part. I don't see a use for this part aside from mounting a flashlight, and I don't like all the rail simply for one flashlight. Further, I don't think I'll enjoy adjusting my support side grip to make room for this thing. I placed the order during a moment of excitement but once logic and reason set in, I've changed my mind on this part.

I didn't even think about that.

Try them. I trust the rep to tell me whether they are available yet or not.

Here is a copy and paste from the email I got this am: Dear Sir, We are taking orders for the M80 mount. They are not available to ship as the production run is being tested. I am sending you some pictures so that you can see what it looks like. Sincerely, Jose Almaraz Surefire Technical Support 800-828-8809 Ext. 2104 Fax: 714-545-9537 ___________________________ He didn't give me the price in the email, but it is $215, and with whatever other charges there were, it came to $231. I am sure its sales tax since I'm in CA, and so are they. They say that shipping is free on all orders over $100. He took my credit card, but has no date on when they are releasing them. They are still being tested. I will be charged once they ship them. He said they also provide snug rubber covers with the unit that go over the rails so if you are not using them, it is comfortable to grip. The unit is only the mount / rail. It does not include the support hand grip and flashlight. The support hand grip is Surefire part number M900A. The order list is up around 200 right now. I only bought one, even though I have two M4s. I'll see if I like it before ordering a second one, at that price.

Well, you know a lot more about shotguns and ammo than I do. My M4 only came with one choke, the one in the barrel. That is the choke I used. As for Federal, that is what I shot in bird and buck, and it was great. I had no problems with any of my ammo. Although, for slug I did have Winchester. Again, shot flawlessly. We did head shots from 30 meters, chest shots from 30 meters, and chest shots from 50 meters, standing, prone, squatting, sitting, kneeling, whatever. I didn't pay too much attention to what everyone else was shooting. As I said, there were three M4s. One guy was from Germany and it appeared he was shooting Wolf. Another guy, from San Diego, was shooting all Federal. I don't think any of us were having any problems. The German earned a Distinguished Graduate Certificate. He regularly competes, though.

You know, I bought the sling at the last minute for the class, and didn't keep the packaging. Its not a special sling, and is likely one very common at gun stores. It was $29.99. I only bought it because my Wilderness sling didn't arrive in time for class. Kinny: I'm up there right now. I have a house in Pahrump. I'm taking the Rope, Rappel, and Climb tomorrow. Just the 2 day version. I didn't have time for the 4 day. So far this year, I've done the 4 Day Defensive Handgun, 4 Day Tactical Shotgun, I've done the 2 Day Handgun Skill Builder twice, I've done the CCW twice (only because someone I was with needed to do it, you only need to take this class once), I've done the GLOCK Armorer's Course, and I'm likely taking the 2 Day Advanced Tactical Handgun in two weeks. I'll come out for the 4th of July party, also. Needless to say, I'm making sure to get my money's worth out of the membership.

Actually, she was shooting an 870. There were 3 M4s, and one M2. The rest were 870 or other guns.

I'm a lifetime member. Now everything I take there, anytime, is free, for the rest of my life. Every class they offer. As for the others being comfortable in prone, squatting, whatever. I'm in shape. Many others aren't. What was funny was watching people shooting from a squat position and their shotguns kick them backwards onto their asses.

I don't see any bolt damage, and the ejection port looks fine. Very dirty, and needs some cleanup. The gun ran flawlessly. I was quite impressed.

Thanks. Had a great time. As fun as shotgun was, it is probably better to do handgun the first time, just to get a feel for four long days of training. Once you know what to expect, it would be easier to prepare for the shotgun class, which is quite intense.
