  1. I hate to wiz on everyone’s spark plugs, but putting a full-lenght magazine tube on a non-NFA M4 that has a pistol grip is illegal—PERIOD! Buying one is OK, as is selling one, but put it on the gun, get caught, and your butt is hanging out there. If you look at the law you will see that because it is a foreign made semi-auto shotgun, and does not have the required number of U.S. made parts, it can only have one (1) of the following; magazine capacity over 5 shots, flash suppressor, bayonet lug, pistol grip, removable magazine, folding or collapsible stock. The reason Benelli stopped selling the M1014 stock to civilians is because it has both the pistol grip AND the collapsible stock which is in violation of federal firearms law. Don’t believe me—call ATF..

I have spoken with the ATF Technology Branch in West Virginia at great length about this and they assured me that this is absolutely the case and doing otherwise is a violation of the Gun Control Act. The fact that some of the mag tubes are a U.S. made part means NOTHING. It is a felony which carries stiff fines and jail time. It would also preclude one from owning ANY firearms and/or working for the federal government.

As has been outlined on this site before by another member, the ONLY way around this is to re-classify the gun as an NFA Class III weapon. The way you would do this is to call it a “short-barreled shotgun”. You don’t actually have to make the barrel short as some people assume; you just have to re-class the receiver. This is done with ATF Form 1— Application to Make and Register a Firearm. It costs $200 and requires being signed off by the chief law enforcement officer in your area. If you are a Law Enforcement officer, same-same—without having to pay the $200, but it still needs to have the change registered with ATF. The ATF guy went on to tell me that the main way they catch people who do stuff like this is when they go on the web and blab. I have to assume that all of the people who have posted photos of their modified M4s along with the description of what they did, have already received their Class III stamp.

    Ok, and?

How about you worry about you, and ill worry about me.

  2. Since you said in good cond, I assume you mean used.

That being said, you still listed a $1700+ gun.

Figure $1200 for a standard, new M4, another $400-700 for the stock, $100 for the mag extension, and a few clams for the sling.

Real world: Around here, a PG stock M4 with the factory extension is going for $1500, give or take a hundred.

Add on the col stock, and its not odd to see them hit 2 grand.

I picked mine up a few months ago for $1700 with no tax. It came with the col stock and was brand new. I felt like I got a pretty good deal.

Especially when I sold the stock a month later for $700 and the guy threw in a field stock.

Lucky me, about a month after I sold it, I picked up another col stock at a local Goon Show for $200.

    Everyone on here hates me.:D

  3. I am sure the us military made a bad choice and still continues to purchas and use those broken old M4's. quote]

No ****, and they damn sure didnt do it to save $$, I saw where they are paying about $1100 for each unit. Cheap compared to what we pay, but a damn sight more expensive than ordering a bunch of 870s or 590s would have been.

I sense jealousy. 2 posts? Sounds like someone registered to spread some hate.

  4. Seems like a good price to me. I paid $1700 for mine brand new about a month ago. It came with the factory tele-stock.

The dealer really didnt want to let it go for that price, he was originally asking $1900+tax, but I kept messing with him offering $1700 and no tax, after about 15min, he went for it.

Also, a few weeks ago, I sold the col stock for $700 AND a factory field stock. So, you should be able to sell the stock and pay for 1/3rd of the gun at the very least. Some of the guys on here got real butthurt when I asked that much for the stock.

They would be REAL pissed to know that I picked up another col stock at a local gun show a week after that for $250.:D

  5. owned 2 tactical m1 super90, ordered another one (as an M2)

    everyone has one happy.

the M4????? pictures of broken gas pistons all over the place..... not half as reliable, MORE expensive by a long shot.

so, who the **** is buying them and why? the ignorant folks who havent read 100 pages on the net of people bitching about their M4 malfunctioning or the piston breaking. :p

What, in the **** are you talking about?

The M4 has MORE than proven itself.

Is there a broken M4 out there? Im sure there is. Im also sure that there are some broken M1s and 2s out there, your point?

What kind of malfunctions are you talking about? Piston breaking? Breaking how? Do you have some links to any of this?

  6. Greetings,

What are the chances of Benelli making a steel receiver for the M4?

The only issue I have with my M4, is getting dings from the spent shell casing coming out of the ejection port. If the reciver was made of steel like the Remington 870 Police Magnum, this problem would be fixed. I also prefer all steel guns VS alloy.

Just curious what other members think.

    Thanks

While it would be cool I guess. I think that a steel receiver is greatly overrated.

People harp on 870s all the time because of this, but id rather have a Winchester 1300 anyday.

Short of little dings and such, I cant see how it would help, even in a hostile situation.

If I need to drive railroad spikes into rocks, I have a sledge hammer.

  7. "Some guy got what he wanted, I got what I wanted. Im sorry your feelings got hurt in regards to something that has nothing to do with you."

listen up smartass, ive been one to support your right to sell your stock at whatever ridiculous, greedy price you choose regardless if i beleive you should or not. Im well aware of how supply and demand works b/c as i stated, i paid $500 for the factory tube b/c i wanted it that bad and i was happy to pay to get what i wanted. If you did find some desperate person to pay you $700 and a field stock (which i personally doubt that you did) then good for you, take the profit and buy yourself an attitude.

    .

Obviously it bent you out of shape pretty bad or you wouldnt have responded like you did.

I could argue the exact same point about you and your tube that you paid $400 to much for, and in turn "driving up the price for the rest of us"

However, what you do with your $ is of no concern to me, and what I sell and for how much should be none of yours..

    Im done with this discussion.

    Have a nice day.

  8. said...supply ...people payin that much is what makes these prices that high

    Well, yeah.

    Its called demand.

Did you notice how many people in this thread say they wouldnt sell thiers? If NOONE is selling a coll stock, and out of nowhere one pops up, you can bet its going to fetch a premium. If you didnt plan on buying it, what do you care who paid what for it? For someone with good funds. Lets say, someone that brings in over a million a year, whats $1,000 for you to have what you want?

When I bought the gun, I wasnt crazy about the coll stock as I plan to use this one in 3-gun, but bought it and knew I could sell it.

Some guy got what he wanted, I got what I wanted. Im sorry your feelings got hurt in regards to something that has nothing to do with you.

  9. Dont get me wrong, the gun rocks. Seems like a good choice.

However, did they go with the M4 just because it functions a bit better with accessories and the gas system?

For simplicity, you would have thought they would have picked the M1, or 2.

Also, you gotta know its a **** of a gun for the Marines to pick it, because you know they damn sure didnt pick it for the price. Im sure Benelli gave them a **** of a deal, but still a lot more expensive than you tradtional 590 or 870.

  10. Im curious about this as well concerning how many of each were produced.

My understanding, there are 3 versions of the M4

    M4

    M4 Le marked

    M4 Le marked w/American flag.

How many of each were produced? Does one hold an advantage over another in regards to resale? Rareness?

  11. you're out of your ******* mind

    Am I?

    http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=85899985

Its not what its worth, its what the market will support.

That one went for nearly $800, a local shop has one for $850.Another local shop has an M4 for $1400 with a standard PG stock, or a Skeleton stock for $2200 or So how far off am I?

While it may not be worth it to you, there are those with the funds avalable who wish to have an all pure Benelli M4, and dont mind paying the bill.

  12. EDIT!

    SOLD!!!

There is a high demand, I had half a dozen emails with cash offers, and trade and cash offers. In the end, I took $700 and a field stock.

Selling due to demand, and I need funds for a wedding ring.

Never been used. Benelli M4 Collapsible stock. There will be no more of these imported. What we have, is what we have.

$1,000 shipped. Or will trade for a standard field stock, or regular PG stock for $850

As of now the stock is still on the gun. I will remove it once payments have been certified.

    Certified funds only.

Pics of the stock (again, gun is not included, price is for the stock only)

  13. For all my benelli brothrs & sisters looking for a collapsible stock. I came across this today.

    http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=85899985

No its not mine, but these are getting harder to find and just wanted to pass it along.

    Mike

Holy ****! Are they serious!? Current bid is $735?!?!?

Holy balls! It sold for $782.77!!

****, let them get up to $1000, I swear ill sell mine to the first person that offers me a K for it, sell mine, and damn near break even on the whole damn gun.

  14. I just added one to my M4 accessories (now I have all 3 stocks). I called Benelli and they directed me to a vendor that was a bit less $$ than the one listed (I got the last one in their inventory so call Benelli).

    sgbasic.jpg

Odd to see a M4S90 with that stock, but it looks good!

I may be the only one that does not like the looks of the tele-stock that mine came with..

Good news is that I can sell it and have enough $$ to buy like 4-5 of the field stocks. I think ill keep it though, and just buy the field stock. The tele-stocks seem to be getting harder, and more expensive to locate.

  15. Im looking for a plain ol' field stock for my M4S90.

The retractable PG stock that it came with is uber-tacticool, but I have never liked using a PG stock in 3-gun shoots.

Also, does anyone have a Pic of a M4s90 with a plain stock?

  16. No-F

Thanks, I couldn't understand why it won't feed & cycle manually. I'll just have to take her out.

    Thanks again, I feel better.

    I know how you feel.

When you drop over a grand on a shotgun, everything out of the ordinary makes you paranoid. I did the same thing.
