Misfire

i joined because i bought a stoeger like a month ago and i wanted to see what people were sayin about them before i invested the money. nobody posted that it was gunna be the hardest kickin shotgun you can buy. i had used my mossberg 500 forever before this and what kind of questions can you ask about a $150 gun in a forum. i guess you could ask how can i get rid of the rattling noises and sloppy action, naaa not really !

i like the rem 3" copper solids too but if you dont want a 500 grain chunk of copper rollin down thru town at 1500 fps a 3" heavy shot dead coyote T would leave a mark on somethin too and not roll 6 blocks away.

wow, that hurts bad, stompin on my mossberg 500 like that. LOL i have a mossberg 500 that was the first gun i ever bought and shoot it hard every yr i have killed almost anything we have to hunt around here and killed very effectively with it. i payed $150 brand new for it. also hunted in the worst weather possible and never had a problem i only hope my new stoeger can live up to my expectations of a shotgun.

keep in mind that the smallest diameter doesnt always produce the tightest pattern because if the shot is constricted to tightly you will get shot bouncing off each other inadvertinly spreading your pattern. a longer extended choke tube will prevent some of that and keep a tight pattern.

you guys all sound spoiled, up here in PA there are tons of places you can hunt and chances are nobody else is there but your lucky to see 30 doves in a day and maybe have 15 get close enough to shoot at. then there is the fact that they come by at 50 mph and maybe if your a good shot you bag 4-5 of um. you have to freeze up every harvest and get one good meal for the season. also for a resident it costs ya $23 to hunt doves and if your a non-res figure on takin out a loan

i agree the carlsons chokes are worth the money spent and i recommend them, the only difference would be merely in the manu specs and tolerances you probably would not see a diff on paper

there are all kinds of after market companies that make those choke tubes that will fit your gun and some are cheaper in price. look up some online stores like cabelas.com or similar that sell shooting accessories and supplies. i have had good luck with carlson's chokes and they are priced right

i have had good response from a woody whistle from time to time. they will atleast come a little closer when they hear a comrad callin but the woodies i hunt usually have a place in mind when they come screamin by and dont decoy very often unless you are close to where they originally wanted to set down

same here in PA no electronically operated anything allowed for fowling. but i did invest in 2 of the edge mallards at the end of last season. my only gripe with them is it took a pretty steady wind to get um goin and most of the my fav spots are sorta back in coves with low or no wind. i did have one day out with a cold front comin thru and had a good old time cause they were buzzin all morn and everything that flew over came in for a 2nd look. definetly any type of activity or movement will add to the realism of a spread
