  1. Looks like that one will rotate as there are no 'flats' like the OE unit; ordered one of FFT - they indicate their weight around 16 grams is due to the size, being larger than Design concepts for easier handling with gloves. Will post AAR

  2. I've posted with pictures showing the damage to my T1 LaRue mount - not a problem with the mount per se, just not enough surface area on the Benelli mount - don't know how they got that past the military but that's another story.

Reached out to Kip several times w/o success

  3. Odd question for sure, but the bride is going over to Paris on a school trip and wonder if she might be able to bring back a coupla presents. Don't know if there are export issues, but first thought I'd ping you guys to see if you've got any experience buying them over there.

    Thx

  4. I've got some wooden 'handle' "Q" tips I use to get into the nether parts of my stuff - I just break one in half and use it as a dowel to drive out the pin - I understand what the manual says and that's fine if one has no alternatives - I would prefer not to use a brass/steel drift as the wooden one is just fine - no marring of the pin, works just fine and the price is very good.

    Enjoy

  5. Thanks - Just dressed it up a bit w/a file and it fits fine on a real picatinny rail - can't believe "our government" would let a contract for these shotguns and not have an industry standard picatinny rail on the top - wonder how many soldiers have had their mounts go **** up because of this.

Looked at the Sidearmor and they say it is a mil-spec rail, but it doesn't have the full width lug either. That being said, yes, more real estate, but the same problem with the Larue mount I suspect.

  6. Sorry for the poor picture, but the description will suffice; brand new Larue mount carefully mounted on M4 - 25 rds of skeet ammo and the edges are peened over - corresponding witness marks on the rail as well. Glad I inspected after one box, but wish I'd checked it sooner -

Kip - money in hand - can we get an updated progress report? Thx

  7. You are fine - if you can find an exploded view of the mechanism, I think you'll see there is a roll pin that is the fulcrum point of the mechanism - as the release button is in the lock position, it will seem 'twisted' - sort of like a teeter totter which is giving visual of it being off center

  8. Concur w/M1014's instructions - would keep the drill moving as if honing a cylinder block - say a full length pull in 4-5 sec and then push back - medium speed on the variable and plenty of solvent - I wonder if it might be plastic wad build up as well - I do it with the gas pistons in the up position but your still going to get crap in those cylinders, so you might want to make sure to remove the pistons and clean out the bores
