  1. AMEN goose2!!! amen! I honestly, honestly, honestly, honestly think if the Vinci were a traditional looking shotgun, EVERYONE would be raving and praising it. It has taken the Vinci a little more time to come around just because people are basing their opinions off of looks (don't judge a book by its cover, but then again, we Americans are some hardcore appearance judging people)... I can't wait to get mine! I'm still up in the air about max 4 vs realtree apg, but I'm leaning towards the Max
  2. lol no, I won't buy the 10 gauge, I think 3" will do everything... (I've thought about this for a few days)... I'm gonna mainly duck hunt though, but if I ever do turkey/geese hunt, I'm gonna use the Vinci and take pics and make all the 3.5" people hush ;-)... you think $1350 (not including tax) is a good price for a 26" Vinci camo (max 4)....??? thanks!
  3. again I say with the extra money left over from buying the Vinci vs SBE II I'll buy a 10 gauge, which is a lot more powerful than a 3.5"... 3.5" has been out since 1988... people have been killing turkeys and geese with shells less than 3"... it's almost like a macho type thing with the 3.5"... I'm gonna buy my Vinci next week, I'll post a review once I get it... I've actually been reading and hearing some bad things about the SBE II...
  4. 3.5" is totally unnecessary... I've read that it only came out because of the lead ban in waterfowl hunting. And with tungsten and other modern non toxic shells, a 3" is just as good... also, I've also heard that benelli has no plans to release a 3.5" Vinci... I myself think that people have been killing all kinds of birds/deer fine way before the 3.5" came out... for me, it's a marketing gimmic.. I plan on buying one next week actually... and with the 300 dollars I save from not buying a SBE II, I'm gonna buy a 10 gauge cheapo shotgun for those cases where I think I MIGHT need a stronger gun... but that's slim to none... besides, 3.5" shells are 30% more expensive... marketing scam.... not to mention the kick is horrible...
  5. I am starting to think it's just whatever suits the hunter... people have always been killing everything with regular brown/black shotguns with no probs...
  6. hmmm I don't see the mossy oak on benelli's website...
  7. what's the more popular camo to go with nowadays? I know it's personal preference, but what's the more popular one? thanks, Jack
  8. How many shells can the SBE II hold? and what would be the better camo for around NC/SC the real tree or the max 4? what would be the best camo for say, Spain/Argentina? I plan on doing some partridge hunting soon in Spain... thanks! Jack...
  9. anyone ever been? or know anyone who has? my fiance is from Spain... I'd love to go over there and try it! thanks, Jack
  10. mudhen, how did you break the two stocks... the more and more i read about benelli shotguns, the more I'm positive I want the SBEII...without a doubt, I believe it's better than the vinci...
  11. I know this has been discussed before, but I have a specific question... I'd like to know which would be better for waterfowl... and does the cordoba come in 3.5"? and if not, is 3.5" really so much better than 3"? thanks! Jack
  12. thanks for the website, i just noticed the wood sbe2 doesn't have the little rubber recoil stopper things on the stock... you think the wood would kick harder ? thanks
  13. but Benelli to be sure uses good quality wood? it seems like there isn't a big difference between the Vinci and SBE II, except for the 3.5" thing... So I gotta hold both of them and see which one feels more natural... I think, from what I've read so far that the SBE II would be the better buy because it's been around longer and is tried and trusted... how would the SBE II compare to the browning maxus? thanks for all your help btw! I just love the look of wood, and it's cheaper too! what's the price of a SBE II walnut in a hunting store?
  14. I'm new to duck hunting and such... so forgive the really noobish question... I think I really like the walnut satin finish better than the camo or black composite... wood is still fine for duck hunting right? are there any cons to wood (other than it scratches?)... benelli's SBE2 is made in Italy right? thanks! Jack
  15. what if the vinci was out now with a 3.5" ... which would you pick?
  16. I'm torn between the SBE II and the Vinci also... I have no idea why Benelli would release the Vinci only in a 3"... they clearly wanna make some extra cash... here are my questions though: 1) where is the vinci/sbe2 made? 2) if the vinci came in the 3.5", which would you prefer to have then? the 3.5" vinci or the sbe2 3.5"? thanks! Jack
