  1. I couldn't decide amongst the common choices either, so a modified a few shorts ones to address their usual criticisms.

This site is all screwed up lately......difficult to post a message and edit messages !!!

  2. Yes the only "upgrade" for the SBS magazine is a CarrierComp Ti unit. Same length & capacity, slightly lighter.

One thing some folks with the SBSs do is pickup a full length CarrierComp Ti magazine (seven shell mag) plus an 18.5" barrel assembly so that they can swap over to a non-NFA configuration for impromptu interstate travel or other apps where the nine shell capacity is beneficial.

^^ What he said. I too am not aware of any "magazine extensions" from Benelli.

  3. Is the complaint about the loss of 2 mm of receiver finish ? when the bolt is in battery and apparently only when the bolt handle is pushed inwardly.

The metal-to-metal contact may well be due to slightest differences in Benelli receiver profile rather than the bolt handle specifications. If the bolt handle was too short as implied by the OP, why doesn't the bolt handle scrape the receiver finish along the entire length of its excursion? It appears that this fit mismatch would have been obvious upon installation of the bolt handle. Alma-Black will camouflage the mark.

The U.S. Consumer Protection Agency and U.L. approval governs maximum hair dryer temperatures to 140 deg F / ~ 60 C to prohibit scalp burns.

"Other components of the hairdryer are designed to ensure its safe operation. Dryers contain a safety cut off switch that prevents the temperature of the drier from exceeding 140°F (60°C). This switch is a bimetallic strip, which is made from a sheet composed of two metals. These metals expand at different rates when they are heated. As the temperature inside the drier increases, the strip will bend one way or another as the metal strips expand at different rates. When a certain temperature is reached the strip bends to appoint where it trips a safety switch that cuts off the power to the drier."

  5. Not meaning to state the obvious, but it is helpful to remove the bolt and trigger group from the receiver so they collectively don't act as heat sinks thus requiring higher / longer heating efforts to release the thread locking agent. Likewise, if you use a protective vise, offset the tube-receiver from the vise so it (the vise jaws themselves) do not act as heat sinks.

  6. There are a few examples of SAE / metric thread sizes being interchangeable; 8-40 and M4 x .75 coarse thread screws are within a few thousandth's of each other; certainly for plug screws that have no tension, they are suitable substitutes and much more readily available. It's the only threaded part on the Benelli I know of where SAE can be used. There are some third party reports the factory specifies a 8-40 thread however I have never seen it in factory documents.

For lack of a better term, it is O-ring like. My speculation is that its purpose is twofold: 1) prevent over-tightening of the Action Recoil Spring Retainer into the Action Recoil Tube, not so much when the retainer is fitted to the recoil tube, but rather when the stock bolt nut is being secured- as the shaft is common to both threaded ends 2) function as a soft locking washer. The "O-ring" is not a identified part in the M2 schematic parts list. I have replaced it with a similar-sized O-ring, or if partially damaged (as shown at arrows) ignored it and re-installed it; Regardless of the situation, I do however put a dab of blue loctite so the ramming action of the Action Spring Plunger does not loosen the fitting.

  8. Just received the AVA Tactical Mod 1 Benelli M4 mount. I won't repeat all the aforementioned accolades, just confirm them ! The machining, fit / finish is excellent. I plan on trialing several light options in the next few weeks and will post up some photos.

Thanks again to Joel for his business fortitude in delivering another quality M4 accessory to the marketplace.

  9. Hello Everyone,

I recently received my new AVA light mount for my M4. I currently utilize the Fenix PD 35 tactical flashlight. I think the mount is great! However, I do have a concern. I mounted the light on the left side of the shotgun. When activating the light, the flashlight casts a shadow to the right side of whatever I'm lighting up. Of course, this is due to the barrel, etc., which blocks the flashlight's emit. Any resolution? ..........

Lengthen your light 4" or shorten your barrel 4" !
