  1. If you insist on using the full choke.....my SBE 2 puts 100 pellets in a 10" circle at a measured forty yards. (Federal Flite control 3.5" #5 shot-2oz loads)

    however the (Hevi-13 showed 152 pellets on a 10" circle with 3.5" #6- 1 3/4oz loads) using a .667 Hevi shot choke.

Im very well pleased with my SBE 2

  2. I shot my SBE 2 with a 26" barrel....results with 2 different loads, measured true 40yds to target. Both loads were 3.5" shells.

    Federal Flite Control #5 shot/2oz @ 40yds 99 pellets in a 10" circle (factory full choke)

    Hevi-13 #6 shot-1 3/4oz @ 40yds 152 in a 10" circle (Hevi shot choke .667)

note: I did not clean the barrel or chokes, not sure if clean barrel makes better pattern or not?

Im looking forward to see the Hevi-13 performance on a long beard next month in Md.

  3. I'm shooting Hevi-13 3 1/2" Magnum with a Hevi-Shot Turkey choke. When patterned at 40 yards I get 525 pellets in a 30 inch circle. With good even coverage.

The only question I ever had about the Crio barrels is are they like other barrels as far as different chokes and different loads work better with different guns. With the crio barrell being frozen and everything they may pattern similar.

Would these be 2 1/4oz shot? also how many in a 10" circle?

  4. I shot my SBE 2 with a 26" barrel this evening....results with 2 different loads, measured true 40yds to target.

    Federal Flite Control #5 shot/2oz @ 40yds 99 pellets in a 10" circle (factory full choke)

    Hevi-13 #6 shot/1 3/4oz @ 40yds 152 in a 10" circle (Hevi shot choke .667)

  5. Depending on price of the order......there are plenty of places with the SBE II on hand. It seems to me mine took a few weeks to come in, not months. Only reason waited that long was the price was right.

  6. Nothing wrong with the M&P, run Glock myself.......wife has a M&P in a 9c. I like the interchangeable back straps, and the other options they offer as options such as the mag safety, thumb safety, ambidextrous mag release etc.....the only reason I pick the Glock is because prefer the feel of them.

  7. I used the Jellyhead with my first SBE and it worked really well. When I purchased my SBE II, I purchased another Jellyhead, but I have not had the same results. The pattern really opened up regardless of the ammo used. I just purchased one of the Hevi-shot Turkey chokes and it is .667. I called and spoke with one of the Techs and he said that during testing they found that .660 was to much constriction for the SBE II and that the .667 worked really well with all of there turkey loads. He said that some people were even reporting good results using the Dead Coyote loads with the Turkey choke. The weather has prevented me from getting out and pattering different loads, but hopefully it will ease up and I can get out in the next couple of weeks.

Yes, I was given similar info......was told to try the Hevi 13 #6 shot and the Mag Blend in the Hevi 13 .667 choke. Cablelas had them on sale @ $49. The choke arrived the other day, will be getting the ammo soon....next week or two I will find out what my SBE 2 will do. Last year I used my SuperNova with a trulock .665 Fed Flite control #5.....so if my SBE 2 gets poor patterns will be using the SuperNova.

  8. I was at first looking to buy a SBEII and i definately wanted the max-4 camo. When i checked the site again the new Super VInci was up. I noticed that it shoots the 3.5 and is the same price as the SBE. Any thoughts about each gun would be great.

I am a happy SBE 2 owner, great all around shotgun for me, use it for squirrel, rabbit, crow, sporting clays, and turkey. Myself would not be afraid to purchase the Super Vinci if you like it. In my case few of my other guns get used now after the SBE 2 arrived....... love it.

  9. I used a Trulock .665 with 3.5" 2 oz Federal Flite Controls #5 shot last year in my SuperNova.....took two nice toms in Md spring. I like my SuperNova very well and had zero issues with it. This year going to try the Hevi 13 in my SBE 2.......cant seem to put this one down.

  10. Remington sent me a survey/questionare just today wanting to compare the SuperNova to the 887 Nitro......may have had something to do with a letter I sent them awhile ago concerning the poor quality of the 887 Nitro? I had no trouble letting Remington know the reasons the SuperNova far better gun and deal vs the 887 Nitro. Its very obvious that Rem is concerned with Benelli products......and they should be.

  11. Im not sure how you clean and oil your guns.......but shouldn't be any danger of soaking the stock with oil? The inertia action does not require the gun to be soaked in a bucket of oil or gun oil running down the stock. It also seems odd to me all these negative things about comfort tech stocks doing this and that........but Benelli has been putting them on their products since when and still continue to do so in 2011? I would certainly think by now Benelli would have discontinued them or changed the design if they weren't any good. I can attest that my SBE 2 comfort the stock has not failed or damaged in anyway.....however have not soaked in a bucket of gun oil? or dragged the gun behind my quad either. , , ,

    Note:

I also read more that one place the SBE 2 would not cycle target loads too.....however after buying one, mine seems to even shoot 1oz loads with no issues? Strange.

  12. Thanks for the replies. Re my purchase decision, I work at the company where I am ordering and qualify for a "pro" deal at about 50% of retail, hard to argue with. Re the bore size, I had noticed while researching choke tubes for my Beretta Silver Pigeon S that there is a good deal of variability in bore sized from one gun, and one manufacturer to another. Just another case where there is more than one right answer, I guess. Thanks, Hattles, for the measurement, I had not seen such numbers. Good shooting to all.

    .

    .

    50% off retail price......? wow

  13. I have a super nova. I like it better then the Nova. I had my first part break on it last wk. The firing pin retaining pin head sheared off. I dont care for the design of a rubber gasket holding the pin in. I dont have a Stoeger.

Same design on the SBE 2, havent had mine long enough to state any durability claims......under 1000rds.
