  1. Wow! Give Benelli a call. I'm sure they will take care of you without any hassle. I have had excellent service from them in the past. Let us know what they say.

Any more info on the hammer deformation concerns? I'm thinking of ordering today, but might just get the trigger/disconnector and keep my Geissele hammer...
  3. What kind of groups are you getting at 25 yards and at 50 yards? I would spend some time at the range trying different brands of rifled slugs and see which ones give the best groups with your current barrel. Like GoBow said, your current setup should be fine at 25 yards. Obviously, a rifled barrel with sabot slugs will be way more accurate, but also more expensive. This combo should give you tight groups at 100 yards easily. Keep in mind if you trade your current barrel for a rifled barrel, you will not be able to shoot normal shot loads anymore. The rifling ruins the pattern. The best solution would be to add a rifled barrel and scope for deer and keep your smooth barrel for other uses.
  4. According to Beretta, the TX4 will accept a magazine extension to hold more than four rounds. Their demo video shows an eight round setup.
  5. Don, don't worry, I had the same issues when my M4 was new. Now that it's broken in, my M4 cycles everything flawlessly, including 1 oz/1200fps light target loads. Your gun may take a little longer to break in than your dad's - every gun is different. Mine also has the "peening" around the ejection port. This just means your gun isn't a safe queen. btw, I think it is very cool that both you and your Dad have M4s!! Pictures?

    Gun oils

I have had good luck with both M Pro7 and rem oil here in TX at temps around freezing, but have not used either at extreme cold temps. mysbeII, what problems did you have with rem oil at 10-15 below?
  7. I am also new to participating in this forum, but I have learned a lot from it in the past. Great advice so far from StrangerDanger and Sukhoi_fan. The only thing I would add is that FFT has an excellent FAQ on their website explaining 922® for the M4. It explains some more of the background info on U.S. parts counts and 922®. http://freedomfightertactical.com/922r-faq/
  8. I had trouble with the screw and stock working loose as well. After the second time, I used blue loctite to secure the screw. Evidently that was a mistake (I haven't tried removing it yet), but it was the only way I could get the screw to stay secure.
