None whatsoever. A failed attempt at humor.
In fact, I'm of the opinion that unless you are on the hook for a string of other more serious violations (i.e. taking a hack saw to your 870) it is highly unlikely that you would be pursued over 922r. It is a hard case to prove (is this umarked part made in the US or is it foreign?) and would not be worth the government's time. While I have zero experience with BATFE, I do have a little insight into how DOJ lawyers (those who prosecute the government's cases) think and operate.
All this being said, I wouldn't want to be the one to test this theory. My flippant attempt at humor was more along the lines of "Maybe you don't want to be asking about a value for this apparently 922r non-compliant gun without explicitly stating its compliance parts." 922r questions come up here frequently, and on other boards for firearms which need to be concerned about such things (AKs, VZ58s, FALs, etc) this approach is widely followed.
As far as scarcity, my local dealer had 2 on the shelf a couple of weeks ago. One black, one desert camo.
