Sounds like he might be pointing you in the right direction. Bring it in to him, let him show you what he means. Then the tricky part is mounting your shotgun there everytime you shoot it.

Check to see if the primer has a light strike mark on from the firing pin. That would be a visual sign that the hammer is working. If there is a light mark on the primer look at the load the primers might not be seated as far as they could in the shell and you could just try a different batch of ammo. If there is no strike mark at all something is not working correct with your shotgun.

Where I live it is a big hunting season. The Wildlife Managent releases pheasants several times a year . The Hunters and there dogs are a sight to see. The woods is alive with activity. I purchase a stamp and walk the woods. Its worth every penny

I like my stoeger too. I'm not going to spend any money on it though, it does what I need it to do. 2 shotguns I got to check out in the past week where a browning maxus sporting did'nt get to shoot it though but it was very light and felt great. I did get to shoot a benelli 20 gauge ultra light a few days ago. I really liked the Ultra light did'nt miss anything with it. I had never held or shot these light weight shotguns before but was very impressed with the benelli. If you get a chance check some of the light weight shotguns out you might like them too.

36/50 is respectable. I would'nt be looking to change anything with that score. Sounds like you got a first class shotgun and wife.

Went and shot 50 targets today. I learned that the course is changed on a regular basis. I also learned that I cant plan a shot until I am at a station and can see the presented target. Its strange to see on my sheets a 4-5 hit increase when using a particular load of ammo. But after today and learning all the different variables. I think it has most to do with how I shoot the presented course on that day.

I am going to try to compensate the crossing shots with the load I am using this weekend. I have a couple boxes of the lower velocity loads. I am swinging threw and pulling the trigger when the barrel covers the clay on crossings targets. I'll try to figure it out. I hope 2012 brings you many 25 straights on the skeet field.

The velocity is slightly higher on the Winchester's 1180. The Federal velocity is 1145 and I do think that it is crossing targets that I am picking up.

I have two brands of target loads available to buy. I have been going to the sporting clay course 1 to 2 times a week for three months. I shoot 50 targets each time. I am using a Federal Target load and Winchester AA target load both are 2 3/4 - 1 1/8 - 8. On my score sheets I am picking up 4 to 5 more hits when using Winchester AA. Is there any difference with these shot shells?
